A year or two ago I started to see fairy doors pop up everywhere on social media and they looked like such a cute, fun idea that I promised myself I would get one as soon as LP was old enough to understand the concept behind them. This Christmas was going to be that time but the Irish Fairy Door Company beat me to it and sent us our very own Fairy Door to review.

Who are the Irish Fairy Door Company?

The Irish Fairy Door Company have a great range of fairy doors in every shape and colour so you can find one that’s perfect for your home. They also sell a wide range of accessories too – like a door mat, washing line or fairy dust!

What were our first impressions of the Irish Fairy Door?

Our Fairy Door arrived in a beautiful presentation box which would make it a lovely gift. The door comes complete with a book about fairy doors, a family/fairy lease agreement, a notepad, a tiny little key and a set of stepping stones.

It was a bit tricky to get everything out of the box as it was all really well attached with sticky fixers but once out of the box we got to work setting up our very own fairy door.

Once the door was in place – on the skirting of our choice in the house, the key was left outside ready for a fairy to use to move into their new home. LP loved checking to see if the key was still outside and got really excited when the key finally disappeared!

The Fairy Door can be used for anything you like really – it’s a great way of tapping into a child’s imagination and LP loves leaving treats for the fairy before she goes to bed and finding things that the fairy has left for her and Little Man in the morning.

A lot of people use their fairy doors for the tooth fairy too – leaving their tooth outside the door before bed and being left something in exchange the next day. Whatever you use your fairy door for though children are bound to love it.

The Fairy Door has got a permanent place in our home and I now can’t imagine life without it. The children love it, it’s well made and looks great too. A lovely addition to any home.

The above Fairy Door has an RRP of £19.99 and other colours/styles are available.

Adorable! I think I need to get one of these for my girl as her teeth will be dropping out soon and this would be great for that! x

I think these are so sweet! We have loads of trees in our garden so I’d be tempted to find one that could survive the elements. Glad LP is loving it!xx
