I Love My Town – Camberley

I’ve been tagged by Jean over at NotSupermum – a post about where you live.

I really love where we live.

I Love My Town - Camberley

We used to live in Carshalton, Surrey. It was too close to London for our liking and so we decided to move outside of the M25 before having kids.

Why Camberley? Well, in all honesty, we found a house we loved. No more thought than that went into it!

Nearly 3 years and 2 children later and I’ve realised how much I appreciate living here. Not just the house, but the town too.

We have nursery, primary and secondary schools within walking distance. We also have our local health centre and multiple dentists all within a short walking distance.

The town centre is less than a mile away – easily walkable. As well as a cinema, bowling alley, theatre and leisure centre there is also a modern complex of restaurants, enough shops to buy near enough everything and shops to suit all budgets. The town is well maintained with benches, flower pots and hanging baskets wherever you look.

Since having children I’ve also become well acquainted with the Magic Castle soft play centre – most parents’ idea of hell!

Sainsburys and Lidl are in the town centre, with a Co-Op just outside of town a short walk away. Tesco, Sainsburys Superstore, Aldi and another Lidl are all a short drive away plus Asda and Morissons both down the road in Farnborough.

We have a few play parks close by and a lot of green space a short drive away – Virginia Water and The Lookout being the closest places.

We also have LP and LM’s Grandparents down the road in Sandhurst – which is amazing! It’s lovely having family so close as well as everything that Sandhurst has to offer too – A lovely park, play area and the Royal Military Academy events come to mind.

We are on the borders of Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire. It’s an amazing location with easy access to London, the coast and the West Country.

I really do love living here and will never move.

Do you love the area you live in?

My friends live in Fleet and Bracknell, and I always said that if I had to live anywhere else in the country I would move Berkshire/Surry direction 🙂
