The Girls, Chocolate and Sunflowers #LittleLoves

This has been one really busy but lovely week. It’s been so full and I am so ready for the weekend – but at the same time I don’t want this week to be over.

Here we go with the things we’ve been loving this week:

Read

Hubby and I went to see The Girls at the theatre in London on Wednesday night and I spent the journey home reading the programme. I love how all theatre people seem to have been in the same TV shows – Holby City and Casualty – and I love how familiar faces end up in front of you on stage – like Neil Grayling from Bad Girls!

Watched

I would put The Girls here again but then I’d end up using it for every section and I’d like to make it a little bit more exciting! Lauren and I went on a lovely break away on Monday/Tuesday and after dinner we put our PJs on and watched bloggers on YouTube. I never get to just sit and watch YouTube videos without interruptions and it was so nice to just relax and not have anything else to be doing. Some favourites were Brummy Mummy, Mummy Daddy Me and Sparkles and Stretchmarks.

Heard

I have had this song in my head from The Girls since we left the theatre and it’s one I think I will be singing forever. It’s such a happy song, with real meaning and a great emphasis on seeing the light in life. I love it.

Made

This week we have made huge progress on the house. Last weekend I painted LP’s room and she is in love with the new bright pink walls – it’s like something straight from My Little Pony and she couldn’t be happier with it. I just need to paint the woodwork when the missing skirting is replaced and we’ve even ordered the new carpet that should be fitted next week. It feels like we are gradually getting our house back!

The extension is really coming together too and this week our appliances have been put in, the electrics have been hooked up and we have been able to do washing and cook – although we can’t really use the kitchen until the splashbacks are tiled and the worktops oiled – but it’s getting there. Plus, we have had our utility room and downstairs toilet kitted out this week – life changing stuff!

Wore

Another week when I just don’t have anything to share – I haven’t even acknowledged my clothes this week – there’s so much else going on. I’ll try harder next week.

and lastly…

Next week is the start of Fairtrade Fortnight and so I’ve been getting into the spirit and enjoying a great selection of fairtrade chocolate and jelly beans. It just tastes so good! I may have shared the jelly beans with the children but the chocolate was all mine – these bars are the perfect size to enjoy over the course of an evening too.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Disclosure: I was sent the above chocolate as a gift however I decided to include it in this post – all opinions are my own.

I absolutely love your daughter’s name! I was obsessed with Greek mythology as a kid and Athena was always my favourite. Sounds like your extension will be ready soon, bet you can’t wait to be able to use it all properly. I didn’t even know Gary Barlow had written a musical – I swear I live under a rock! Hope you’re having a great weekend x

Wow you really are renovating so much in your house. It looks amazing. We have bright pink in MM’s room she adores it. It looks amazing here. It’s nice to have some time to just catch up on your youtube videos of the favorites you follow. I haven’t been able to do that for ages. Hope you are having a great weekend. #littleloves

Love musicals and it looks like they’ve had great fun putting this show together. I never saw myself as a pink kind of girl then I had the girls – it’s lovely to read that you are happy with the changes. #littleloves

I’ve been following your house renovations with interest – they’re really coming together now. I do hope you can get your life back to normal soonest! I love going to the theatre, glad you enjoyed the show – I’ve not heard of this musical. How did I miss it?! Looking at your daughter’s beautiful bright pink room brought back memories, my girls used to share a pink room with one very bright wall like this. Perfect for a girlie girl 🙂 xx

I’m loving all the updates on the extension! It’s looking fantastic and I bet you can definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel with it all now.
Loving the pink walls, my youngest is desperate for bright yellow walls when we eventually move! x
