This week has been one of getting back into routines with children tired from school and so many jobs that need doing around the house. But it’s been nice to get back into the swing of things after a week a week at Butlins during half term. I’m actually off to the fracture clinic this morning to see how Little Man’s arm is doing and he’ll either have his cast off or he’ll get a more permanent one for a few more weeks in his choice of colour. Wish us luck!
Here are a few things we’ve been loving this week:
I don’t actually think I have read anything this week. I’ve started a new audiobook but I’m far from finishing it!
Whilst Hubby was working the last few evenings I sat and watched a couple of movies each night on Netflix whilst I worked. The first was The DUFF which I didn’t have high hopes for but I ended up really enjoying. It was a typical American teen school based movie with a really nice romantic storyline – and a nice ending too.
I also watched The First Time which I wouldn’t bother watching – just about two teens on a mission to lose their virginity. What’s your Number? was another rom-com which was a bit meh. It was fine, it took no brain power but I wouldn’t watch it again. Sex Ed was actually a really good movie in the end but took some getting into. It had a nice love story in it and had some really important messages but, it was easy to watch.
Hubby and I also tried to watch Black Mirror. We started the first episode and were baffled from the start. We got that it was satire and not a drama but… We persevered with that episode but haven’t bothered watching any more of it. Have you watched it? Should we carry on?
It has to be the One Love Manchester concert doesn’t it? I don’t think there was anyone on my Facebook feed not watching it. Wasn’t it awesome!?
A highlight for me was Coldplay singing Don’t Look Back in Anger and later joining Liam Gallagher and Ariana Grande on stage for Live Forever. I loved Oasis growing up – and have loved Coldplay the whole of my adult life but they are like the chalk and cheese of any music collection and it’s always been common knowledge that the Gallaghers couldn’t take Coldplay’s music seriously. So, seeing them perform together was amazing and to me a huge moment in music. It’s a real shame though that Noel Gallagher didn’t perform with his brother as that would have been the cherry on the cake.
Tomorrow is World Gin Day and in celebration of that, and with a little help from Fentimans, Hubby and I have been making some gin and tonics! I know, there’s nothing new there, we do love a G&T. But, Fentimans sent us their Bloom Gin & Rose Lemonade which is so nice – lovely and refreshing and something I will be drinking all the way through the summer! Make sure you celebrate World Gin Day tomorrow too!
I bought a new top in the Tesco sale which I love. I’ve never really embraced the cold shoulder thing as I’ve often found the styles too tight but this is so nice and floaty and perfect for our summer holiday. I love it! I’ve also discovered bandeau bras which are revolutionising my wardrobe at the moment – no more straps for me!
We’re off again this weekend – on a trip to Center Parcs. We haven’t been for a couple of years, since before LP started school when we visited Whinfell Forest and so it will be lovely to spend a couple of days in Woburn Forest and see what the children make of it. We have an action packed weekend planned!
Have a great weekend everyone!
