Gilmore Girls, Nina Simone and Omelettes #LittleLoves

Another week and I’m here again – two Little Loves in a row is better than I did last year! I think I may be on a roll! This has been a mixed bag of a week – with more building work, school runs and then a pretty epic spa day yesterday! I’m also off somewhere very exciting today but I can’t tell you about it yet – watch this space!

So here we go with the things we’ve been loving this week:

Read

I haven’t read a physical book this week but I did read this great post from Just Saying Mum. It was actually the first time I’d read Helen’s blog and I wish I had found it sooner. She writes about life with her three teenagers and I see a future that I hope to have. A life where you’re no longer playing at being a parent – you’re just being one. Where everything just gels and you live the life you have made and where it just works – ups, downs and everything. Plus, her children sound like they have a great relationship too.

Watched

I have been ploughing through with Gilmore Girls – season seven and things have ramped up a notch! I only started watching it a month or two ago and love it – it’s my background viewing when I’m reading blogs in the evening and I love it. I wish I’d known about it first time around.

Heard

I have been listening to Nina Simone’s Feeling Good on repeat. It’s such an uplifting, feel good song and it’s good to have something positive on in the background when I’m sorting things at home.

I’ve also, as a complete contrast, been listening to 2Pac at the gym. I have his greatest hits and find it the best music to run and row to. It’s quite sweary, a little bit angry but often really emotional and heartfelt. I’ve listened to 2Pac since I was a teenager and it’s clear that he paved the way for many of today’s artists of the same genre.

Made

We’ve been sent an Aldi Omelette Maker to review and so we have been making omelettes almost daily – a dream with the kitchen in the state it is at the moment! I didn’t know omelette makers were a thing and so this has been eye opening – plus, Little Man is loving omelettes too.

Wore

This week I went clothes shopping – by myself whilst the children were at school. It was lovely and I bought a pretty special new dress too. I love H&M dresses, the shape just suits me perfectly and they always have lots of different fabrics but all the same style. This one was only £7.99 too so an absolute bargain!

and lastly…

This weekend we don’t have any plans apart from celebrating my lovely Father in Law’s birthday on Sunday afternoon. Other than that, I think I’ll take the children to the movies Saturday morning and relax the rest of the time! We are still trying to get used to being back at school and getting back into our routine has been tough – no-one has wanted to get up in the mornings!

Whatever you’re up to – have a wonderful weekend.

I’m so jealous of your spa break I could do with some pampering, hope you had a lovely time. I’ve been speeding through Gilmore Girls although I’m way behind you on season 4, such a feel good show. That dress looks lovely on you, I would say 70% of my wardrobe is from H&M such good quality and value. Hope you have a lovely relaxing weekend x

I love that you listen to 2Pac at the gym. You’re full of surprises, aren’t you! And I NEED that omelette maker. I CANNOT make omelettes. It’s surely the most simple thing but I SUCK at it. Love that dress, I’m glad you bought it. H&M always have such lovely dresses but the sizing is often far too all-over-the-place for me and my ginormo-boobs *grumble* Hope you all have a lovely weekend x

I love that dress – it really looks nice on you! I’m very jealous of the omelette maker – I love omelettes but I just can’t seem to get to grips with making them properly.#littleloves

You are looking fab Donna. Wow. I am with you on the gilmore girls. Never watched it first time around. Now I am playing catch up. I am still on season one eeek. I don’t get a lot of chances to have the tv on so it’s hard to get through many at a time. But I think possibly a little binging netflix this weekend is needed. Hope you have a lovely weekend ahead. #littleloves

Love the sound of a spa day. I’m off to read the bl9g you mentioned. Sounds great. We don’t have netflix currently but if we get it is want to watch Gilmore girls.#littleloves

Oh, love the dress. We don’t have a H&M near us anymore – BOO! I love their stuff but always need to try on before buying. Jealous of your spa day, looks like you had a lovely time. I’ve not watched GG although heard SO much about it! Enjoy your weekend xx

You look beautiful in that dress! I now really want an omelette maker, mine tend to look more like scrambled eggs by the time I’ve mangled them – possibly need a bigger kitchen to fit anything else in though …

    Have a great weekend lovely.

Gilmore Girls is my go to netflix bedtime binge. I have that on in the background as I catch up on blog reading on my kindle. So easy to watch and such a feel good programme. Rather jealous of your spa day, I haven’t been to one for about 2 years now – seriously need to remedy that this year! Have a great weekend x

I’m loving Gilmore Girls too, I have no idea why I haven’t watched it sooner! I’m so excited to hear what your exciting thing on friday was about 🙂 Have a lovely weekend xx

The H&M dresses do look fab on you! I popped into your local H&M the other week when I was at The Massage company – great to have one so close! They have some wonderful bargains in there don’t they? I’m still ploughing through with Gilmore Girls too. I’m on Season 2! It’s all on Netflix if you want a seriously mammoth session. My husband absolutely does not ‘get’ my liking for it so it makes it difficult to squeeze in sometimes but I’m going to persevere! Have a lovely weekend Donna. xx

Donna I am impressed that you are up to season 7 already. We started watching it at the start of December and have just started watching season 2…. I need to get cracking. I love your spa days that you go on, and we all need days when we completely switch off. I am going to head over to Just Saying Mum, as having a teen and a very nearly tween I need all the help and advice I can get. Have a great week #littleloves x

Love that dress on you Donna, looks fab, and very jealous that you went shopping alone. G hates changing rooms, he’s happy to be pushed around the shops but the minute we stop for me to try anything on he starts shouting. I’m blaming him for too many impulse buys just to get out of the shop! xx

Yay for your second little loves post! I’m still in need of watching Gilmour girls, I must remember. I love H&M, a store just opened up locally so I need to remember to visit more! Sounds like a great weekend of not too much, same here x

That omelette looks amazing! I don’t really like them, but that looks so good I would eat it! Hope you had a lovely weekend celebrating! Have a wonderful week xx

Haha, I’m feeling good too for doing two Little Loves posts in a row! That dress looks lovely on you hon, it’s always great to find a shop where you just KNOW stuff will fit and look fab 🙂 Have a great week xx

I’m a big Gilmore Girls fan too. That omelette looks delicious, I really love omelettes! That dress looks great on you! Bargain!

You’re looking fantastic Donna, that dress is just perfect on you!
I’m with you on Gilmore Girls, I can’t believe I missed it the first time round. It’s perfect for having on in the background, isn’t it? I would have it on in the kitchen while cooking or sorting laundry. I must admit the newest episodes did get my full attention though!
Hope you’re having a good week xx
