Children love to draw. From the moment they can hold a crayon they love to make lines, paint and scribble – expressing themselves with art. Both LP and Little Man love to draw, paint and colour at every opportunity and I know that most of their creations up until now have been quite hard to decipher – neither of them are quite at the stage of drawing things as we see them although they are always a masterpiece in their own right.

Exploring a Child's Artistic Eye

It seems like we are not alone and many children’s drawings don’t look exactly like the subject. SunLife have created a Children’s Celebrity Drawings quiz where you have to guess the celebrity that the child has drawn. It’s just a bit of fun but I really thought I would do better I did – a poor three out of ten! Take the quiz and see how many celebrities you can recognise from the children’s drawings – it’s harder than you think!

LP and Little Man will be drawing celebrities like this in no time – and I will, no doubt, need a little help in working out which celebrity is which. It’s great, though, that they are embracing their creative side, drawing pictures, having fun and expressing themselves with art. It’s something I will always nurture and help them with – I loved colouring and painting as a child, and did art in my GCSEs. I hope I have passed this love of creative-ness down to the children although I don’t use my own creative streak much any more.

Exploring a Child's Artistic Eye

Do your children love to draw, colour and paint? Have you seen them put their artistic eye to good use, creating works of art and sticking them on the fridge? I am sure we are not alone in having a home full of children’s artwork – something I know I will hold on to forever.

Haha, I didn’t get very many of these right either! It’s a fun quiz though, I look forward to my girls producing masterpieces that are a bit more recognisable!

  2. 5 out of 9 isn’t too bad I guess? Some of them are really hard! (obv)
I’ve seen a few of these quizzes around recently and they’re quite fun aren’t they?
Lily loves drawing, it’s her favourite thing to do, like EVER! Haha!
My mum bought her an own pencil case with crayons in and she wanders around with it going ‘twit-twoo’ looking for paper to draw on.
