I have written often about my weight loss journey, my love of Weight Watchers and also my love of good food. I am thirty in a couple of months time and I think it is about time that I started to exercise rather than just diet – I should be healthier, I should be able to run for a bus if I had to and I should set a better example for the children.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not the most unhealthy of people. I walk to work and back three times a week, I walk often with the pushchair and I love days out that involve being on my feet all day – The beach, country parks, wildlife parks. It’s just that up until now the only exercise I have ever done was a handful of Legs Bums and Tums classes in the lead up to my wedding – each one followed by a trip to the pub for a burger!

I have been reading about Rachel’s gym sessions and about Katie’s running and both have made me envious of their healthier ways and the better bodies they have found through exercise. The other evening, on a whim, I bought myself a pair of running trainers and a running ‘outfit’. I downloaded the ‘Couch to 5k’ app for my mobile and I am now all set. Ready to ease myself into running and exercise.

One thing I do need, or would like, is one of those armbands to put my iPhone into – or one of those little mini iPod things. Apart from that, I’ll be starting running next week and will let you know how it goes! If anyone has any tips, any good songs to run to, any good apps, equipment or any words of encouragement then I would love to hear them!
