In our house we have quite a thorough cleaning routine in the run up to Christmas. I have always said that Father Christmas won’t come to an untidy house and so every room is tidied, bedsheets are changed and when everything else is done we clean the bathroom.
The bathroom is one room that you really want sparkling for those Christmas visitors and one that really deserves a thorough clean as well as a bit of a spruce up before Christmas. Here’s our Christmas bathroom routine that gets our bathroom ready for the festivities:
Clean the places that are usually missed – For me, this means cleaning under cupboards, up on top of cupboards and around the door frames! Clean all those hard to reach places first.
Start from the top down – We clean everything from the top down. Shower down to the bath, vanity units and mirrors and when everything else is clean you can finish off with the floor.
Don’t forget the toilet – The toilet at this time of year has to have a deep clean. Leave some gel on whilst you do the rest of the room and always keep a pack of toilet wipes to hand to give the toilet a quick freshen up after the big initial clean. The Domestos toilet cleaning range is perfect for this.
Extra towels – Always have extra towels for guests – the nicer and fluffier the better! Change your usual towels to lovely clean, fresh ones just for Christmas too.
Add accessories – I usually add candles and a nice hand wash to finish off the bathroom ready for Christmas. The candles help the room to smell fresh and festive whilst the hand wash is always appreciated by guests at any time of the year.
How do you get your bathroom ready for Christmas? Do you have a set routine you like to follow or do you do the same cleaning process all year round? I’d love to hear your top tips!
