Disclosure: We were invited on this day out for the purpose of this post however all opinions are my own.
Last weekend Dave took the kids for a lovely day out at Kew Gardens. I was so sad to not go as I was at work but they had a great time just the three of them.
The day started with breakfast under a big tree before everyone went on their very own private land train tour of Kew Gardens. LP and Little Man love to go on any kind of train and this was their favourite kind of adventure! The land train was narrated by the driver who pointed out significant plants and other points of interest.
After the land train ride they made their way to the tree top walkway that gave a completely different view of the gardens from above. The children loved this and it was accessible to wheelchairs and pushchairs which was a great bonus.
It was then time for lunch – a lovely picnic complete with cake! No picnic is really complete without cake and the children loved their lunch. They then went to play in the playground – where they got really grubby but that is, after all, the sign of a good day!
Dave and the children then went for a wander to the glass houses and saw lots of cacti, a rockery and lovely water features as well as a Spice Festival with singers that LP had a dance to.
After that it was time for ice cream in the sun before more playing. It was then time to head home but all in all a lovely day! Dave and I last went to Kew Gardens before we had children and so it was lovely for Dave to have the opportunity to take the children.
