Creating Festive Cocktails with Aldi

Aldi challenged us to create some festive cocktails using their great range of spirits and I don’t need much of an excuse to have a cocktail, although I haven’t created them myself before!

In the end I couldn’t decide between gin or vodka for a cocktail so instead I created two similar cocktails that for me have the flavours of the festive season – orange and cranberry! I had to give them redhead names too really – it would have been wrong otherwise!

Festive Redhead

  • 50ml Aldi Oliver Cromwell Dry Gin
  • handful of cranberries
  • 25ml orange juice
  • ice
  • tonic water
  1. Put the cranberries in a cocktail shaker and crush slightly – I used the end of a rolling pin although I’m sure there’s a proper way of doing this.
  2. Add the gin, orange juice and a handful of ice and give it a good shake.
  3. Pour into a glass and top up with tonic water. Enjoy!

Redhead on the Rocks

  • 50ml Aldi Tamova Vodka
  • 3 tablespoons cranberry juice
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • crushed ice
  • cranberries to serve
  1. Put the vodka, cranberry juice and orange juice in a cocktail shaker and give it all a good shake.
  2. Put the crushed ice in a glass and pour the orange and cranberry mixture over it. Top with cranberries and enjoy!

Hubby and I have loved perfecting the quantities in these cocktails over the last couple of weeks and Aldi gin remains our favourite – great for value and flavour!

Love the names of your cocktails. I love Gin but have never tried Aldi Gin before. Will have to grab a bottle for Christmas and try the cranberry and orange cocktail x
