After spending last weekend at Center Parcs it’s been nice to get home, unpack, wade through the mountain of washing and spend some time in the sun – even if it was just the school run and hanging the washing out.
Here are a few of the things we’ve been loving this week:
I haven’t read much this week apart from Katy’s post about how to be nice to other bloggers. It talks about things you can quickly and easily do that will really help a blogger and it was just so nice to read.
This week Hubby and I have been ploughing through House of Cards. It took us two attempts to get into it but now we’re loving it – Kevin Spacey’s character really is good at playing the game. I’m just trying to work out what the end goal is. Well worth watching if you’re looking for a series to start.
We also made a video of our Center Parcs break if you’d like to take a look:
I hung the washing out the other day whilst singing along to Summer of ’69. What a tune. It’s one that will never get old and I remember hearing it for the first time when I was about 14 and loving it. It’s quite funny that it was actually released the year I was born – and I still love it now.
I have been having so many baths recently. It’s one time I get to really just sit back and relax. So, ‘making’ a bath may be a tenuous link but it works for me. I was sent a Body Polish to try out and it’s been amazing for my skin – the perfect way to get ready for summer. I love a bath and just being able to lock myself in the bathroom, shave my legs, exfoliate, moisturise and dedicate some time to all that stuff.
I just received my second order from Everything 5 Pounds. The first order was a bit of a failure as nothing fit and you have to pay to return – as well as delivery being really expensive – but the second order was much better. As it says on the tin, everything is just £5 and they have so much variety – from shoes and bags to pretty much every part of your wardrobe. I bought some new staples for me – waterfall cardigans and floaty dresses – as well as some cropped combats and some other bits for the summer – and this jumper which I love. It’s one size – 8-14 – which I have no idea how it would work really, and it’s probably more a size 12-14 – but it’s roomy and great for lounging in. Plus, it makes me happy.
We’re not away this weekend and instead we’re doing some low key Father’s Day celebrations with Hubby and taking the children to the park on their bikes. I’m looking forward to a slower paced weekend and some family time.
Have a great weekend whatever you get up to.
