I have been trying to shift a stone of weight for literally years now. Even at our wedding 6 years ago I was the same weight that I am now, my comfortable weight of 11st 2lb. After ballooning in weight with the children I dieted and got back down to the weight I am now – just before getting pregnant with Little Man I managed to get down to my Weight Watchers goal weight of 10st 10lb but I have never been able to get lower than that.
Just before Christmas I started running again and to say I have felt it hard is an understatement. Getting back into the swing of running regularly, at this time of year with awful weather and the light fading earlier has been difficult but the one thing I have this time is motivation to succeed. I will get to the end of the Couch to 5k app and I will get down to 10 stone by the end of the year.
Well this post should be titled: Couch to 5k – Week 2 but unfortunately I only managed one session this week, last Tuesday evening. Since then my knees have been incredibly painful, walking’s hard work and going up and down stairs brings me to the point of tears. It’s not been very nice at all.
Well, I started using the Couch to 5k app last Monday. The app helps you build up from running for 1 minute at a time to running 5k over the course of 8 weeks. It had been recommended to me by a few people so I thought it would help me start to run and hopefully continue to run by easing me into it.
I have written often about my weight loss journey, my love of Weight Watchers and also my love of good food. I am thirty in a couple of months time and I think it is about time that I started to exercise rather than just diet – I should be healthier, I should be able to run for a bus if I had to and I should set a better example for the children.
