Hardwick Hall – The Harry Potter Malfoy Mansion {National Trust}

This year we are aiming to visit as many Harry Potter filming locations across the country as possible and we started our adventure with a National Trust property, Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire. It was Malfoy Manor in the movies and as soon as saw it we could understand why – it’s such a vast and imposing building but beautiful too. Hardwick Hall was lovely to visit. With a really long…

A Weekend at the Solent Hotel and Spa – Fareham

Recently we were invited to stay overnight at the Solent Hotel and Spa in Fareham, Hampshire. This is quite local to us, about an hour’s drive away, and we were all looking forward to some time to relax after the first week back into the usual school and work routine. The Solent Hotel is within easy reach of junction 9 of the M27 and really well placed for the surrounding…

We love this sort of impromptu trip, feeling like real tourists and exploring somewhere new – all in aid of sweet treats! Bakewell was absolutely beautiful and you could tell it was mainly a tourist town. There were shops selling Bakewell Tarts wherever you looked…

My best friend and I love to go away on a spa break every few months and this was a great way to relax and unwind in the lead up to Christmas. The Malvern Hotel and Spa is in a beautiful location, with views of mountains surrounding it.…

An Old Fashioned Airboat Ride in Florida

One spur of the moment thing we did whilst we were in Florida was book an airboat ride. It’s something that so many people raved about and we managed to fit it in towards the end of our holiday. After doing some research we realised we wanted a private tour, not an airboat full of people, and that we wanted at least an hour on the boat – compared to…
