Marwell Hotel, Hampshire – Review

Disclosure: We were invited on this break for the purpose of this review however all opinions are my own.

We often go on adventures at the weekend and extend them by finding family friendly hotels to stay at. Last weekend we were invited to stay at the Marwell Hotel by Hampshire’s Top Attractions who wanted us to get a feel of what Hampshire had to offer families looking for days out of a break away. As a family we don’t get a huge amount of time together and so this was very much a welcome break.

Center Parcs Whinfell Forest Review

A couple of weeks ago we had a self catering break away at Center Parcs in Whinfell Forest, on the edge of the Lake District National Park in Cumbria. We chose this location as we have friends in Cumbria that we planned to stay with to extend our break. It’s also a part of the country we hadn’t yet seen much of – as it’s so far away from us.

Bluestone Spa Review

Disclosure: We were invited on this break for the purpose of this review however all opinions are my own.

Whilst we were at Bluestone on holiday I made use of the Well Spa, Bluestone’s spa complex. The spa is situated in a bright yellow building in the main village area making it incredibly hard to miss.

Bluestone National Park Resort Review

Disclosure: We were invited on this break for the purpose of this review however all opinions are my own.

We visited Bluestone National Park Resort once before, about 18 months ago when Little Man was six months old and we had a week of teething hell and rain. Add to that the fact that half the Adventure Centre was closed off for Kingdom of the Elves and really our holiday could have been better. We were keen to see what a family self catering holiday at Bluestone was like outside of the festive season and now that the children were older.

The Place Aparthotel – Manchester Review

Along with my two friends, Sarah from Life With Munchers and Steph from Mental Parentals, I’d been looking into accommodation in Manchester city centre for a weekend away. We had a few things in mind but none of us knew Manchester very well.

All we wanted was somewhere for two nights where at least three of us could sleep, somewhere with our own cooking facilities, parking and close to the city centre. We looked everywhere before booking a two bedroom apartment at The Place Aparthotel.

Review: Fawsley Hall Hotel

Dave and I hadn’t had a child free weekend away since before we had LP and when Handpicked Hotels offered us the chance to review one of their hotels I couldn’t wait to have a much needed break with Dave. We’re familiar with the Handpicked Hotels brand as their Audleys Wood hotel in Hampshire is where Dave proposed to me just over 6 years ago!

Hoburne Bashley Holiday Park, Hampshire – Review

Review: Hoburne Bashley Holiday Park

Disclosure: We were invited on this break for the purpose of this review however all opinions are my own.

Last weekend we were lucky enough to spend a few days at Hoburne Bashley Holiday Park in New Milton, Hampshire in the heart of the New Forest. We booked the self catering weekend away a few months ago and were really looking forward to it – Bashley is Hoburne’s flagship caravan park and has been undergoing a refurbishment on their swimming pool so we were excited to see what Hoburne Bashley had to offer.

The Coach House – Menheniot, Cornwall Review

Review: The Coach House - Menheniot, Cornwall

We have just come back from a week away in South East Cornwall and I had to write about our holiday accommodation. The last time we thought about having short breaks away, we rented a property in South Cornwall and it was an absolute disaster and so I was nervous about booking any other holiday cottages. I looked everywhere for a holiday home and had trouble finding somewhere available for the dates we needed and also within budget but then I came across a website I hadn’t used before – Blue Chip Holidays and they had somewhere that looked too good to be true. The Coach House at Chy Wheal Honey in Menheniot near Bodmin Moor looked amazing and the price was unbelievable – Under £350 for a whole week for the 3 bedroom property. Dave told me to book it, so I did, and didn’t really think much of it until it was time to go on holiday!

We were lucky enough to win a week’s holiday at Bluestone National Park Resort near Canaston Wood in Wales and it was our first holiday as a family of 4. We were really looking forward to our family self catering break away.
