We often go away as a family and most of the time we choose to stay in chain hotels as we know exactly what we’re getting. But, on a trip to the New Forest last weekend we stayed at The Bell Inn and it may well be one of the best family hotel stays we have ever had.

We love having meals out as a family and try and grab the opportunity as much as we can. One of the latest places we visited was The White Horse in Otterbourne – Hampshire, part of The Ideal Collection.
We are really enjoying exploring all of the National Trust places in our part of the country and the latest one we visited was The Vyne near Basingstoke, Hampshire. Considering the amount of time I have spent in and around Basingstoke I had never even heard of The Vyne before visiting.

As part of our weekend in Hampshire with Hampshire Top Attractions we spent a day at Marwell Zoo, somewhere we have always wanted to visit but have never got around to. As we stayed the night before at the Marwell Hotel we were literally on the zoo’s doorstep and got to the zoo just before it opened at 10am.

We often go on adventures at the weekend and extend them by finding family friendly hotels to stay at. Last weekend we were invited to stay at the Marwell Hotel by Hampshire’s Top Attractions who wanted us to get a feel of what Hampshire had to offer families looking for days out of a break away. As a family we don’t get a huge amount of time together and so this was very much a welcome break.

Last weekend we were invited by Hampshire Top Attractions to have a weekend in Hampshire and visit a couple of attractions whilst we were there. We used to holiday in The New Forest every year as children and so I was looking forward to spending some time in a county that I have great memories of and that we don’t get to visit very often.
Dave had always spoken about going to the National Motor Museum Beaulieu as a child but I had never been so was always looking for an opportunity to go. Unfortunately, the entrance prices, in my opinion, are quite high compared to other days out and so we had always chosen to go somewhere else instead of Beaulieu but recently Beaulieu Motor Museum have been added to Tesco Clubcard deals which makes it a much better value day out and I snapped up tickets as soon as I saw them.
We live just down the road from Wellington Country Park and have always intended to visit but never really got around to it. We decided that we’d go for LP’s Birthday if the weather was ok and thankfully on the day it was cloudy but dry by the time we got ready to leave home.
We always like to visit somewhere new and as we had a day off work together as a family we decided to go off and explore somewhere we hadn’t been before. Staunton Country Park is near Portsmouth, Hampshire and just under an hour away from us. Children under three are free and adults are £7.50. Parking costs £2 but this is refunded off the ticket price.

Last weekend we were lucky enough to spend a few days at Hoburne Bashley Holiday Park in New Milton, Hampshire in the heart of the New Forest. We booked the self catering weekend away a few months ago and were really looking forward to it – Bashley is Hoburne’s flagship caravan park and has been undergoing a refurbishment on their swimming pool so we were excited to see what Hoburne Bashley had to offer.
