If you need to work over the holidays and need childcare then holiday clubs are a really popular idea – and there are so many across Hampshire that you’re bound to find one perfect for your children that’s close to where you live or work.

Cinderella at The Anvil, Basingstoke Review
Disclosure: We were invited to see this show for the purpose of this post however all opinions are my own.
Last night we were invited to see Cinderella at The Anvil in Basingstoke. It was their opening night and we couldn’t wait to see the show. The Anvil is a fantastic theatre, in the heart of Basingstoke town centre, and they always put on a great show.
45 Pubs with Play Areas in Hampshire 2023
If you’re anything like us, wherever you go as a family, you want to make sure that the children will be entertained. Because of this, there’s always that joy of finding a pub with not just a beer garden but a play area in it too. A pub that knows that parents want to enjoy a drink and relax whilst their children play happily, make new friends but remain close by and supervised.
High Score Arcade Farnborough Review
Our children have always loved arcades and so as a birthday treat for Little Man, we went to High Score Arcade in Farnborough. It opened about a year ago but we hadn’t had an excuse to visit until now.
We Love Basingstoke: 5 Reasons Why You Should Too | AD
*This is a collaborative guest post
Basingstoke is perhaps one of Hampshire’s most understated and underrated towns. Often remembered for being an “overspill” for Londoners in the 1960s, this forgotten gem is so much more than its recent past. Even Google missed us off the map once and replaced the town’s name with “town centre!”
10 Things to Do at Marwell Zoo
Disclosure: We were invited on this day out for the purpose of this post however all opinions are my own.
We have been to Marwell Zoo near Winchester, Hampshire so many times now and it’s always guaranteed to be a fantastic family day out, at any time of the year. It’s one of our favourite animal attractions and somewhere the children absolutely love.
The Lavender Fields – Selborne, Hampshire
Everyone loves a lavender field, don’t they? I see them springing up on Instagram all the time and love to visit them myself – but, the ones on Instagram are always so busy. I went to Mayfield Lavender Farm once, years ago, but it’s got far too popular since then. But when I found The Lavender Fields in Selborne, Hampshire, I couldn’t wait to visit.
A Morning at Hogmoor Inclosure – Bordon, Hampshire
About half an hour from us is Hogmoor Inclosure in Bordon, East Hampshire, looked after by the Land Trust and Deadwater Valley Trust. I hadn’t heard of it until recently when so many people told me about it that I just had to visit with the kids.
Hogmoor Inclosure is part of Prince Philip Park which is still being developed. It’s the third largest nature reserve of its kind in the UK. It covers over 54 hectares of woodland and heathland and has been made for the community to use.
A Covid Safe Visit to Beaulieu After Lockdown
Disclosure: We were invited on this day out for the purpose of this post however all opinions are my own.
Our last day out before the pandemic was to Beaulieu in Hampshire. It was to celebrate the opening of their Little Beaulieu play area and it was such a lovely day. It was something we’ve often talked about over the last year, our last glimpse of normality before life was turned upside down. But, last week Beaulieu was able to open fully again and invited us along.
Exploring Aldershot Military Museum
During the summer holidays we did a treasure hunt around Aldershot, which is only a ten minute drive from where we live. The hunt started outside the Aldershot Military Museum but it was sadly closed on the day we did the hunt, so we decided that we would add it to our list of places to come back and visit. Shortly after we made the trip and finally got to experience the museum.
