Hasn’t the weather been lovely recently? We are definitely full swing into summer and it’s one of my favourite times of the year. But it’s so nice to make the house and garden as seasonal as possible – bringing in lovely summery colours, accessorising and making our whole home have that summer vibe.

Bringing Summer into our Home with Seasonal Homeware

The lovely people at Chill Insurance asked me how I get our home ready for summer – if there were any trends I loved at the moment and where my favourite places are to shop when it comes to dressing our house for summer. Well, summer is everywhere at the moment – from the home section in Primark through to the big department stores, you really can’t go far without seeing something that gets you in that summer mood.

Here are a few of my top picks when it comes to summer accessories – as bright and bold as possible – with lots of yellow, the colour of summer!

I’ve also created a Summer Homeware Pinterest Board if you’re looking for more inspiration on how to brighten up your home and garden this summer.

Looking to update your home as the seasons change doesn’t need to be expensive and rather than redecorating I’ve made sure our rooms are a blank canvas all year round so we can add splashes of colour to really help feel the seasons as they change. A rug, cushions or new bedding could be a good investment but wall art, string lights or a nice vase could bring a touch of summer into your home too.

I love to get new mugs and glasses as the seasons change – drinking summer cocktails in the garden. I also usually get new plates and serving dishes for when we have barbecues and it’s just lovely to have that summer vibe both inside our home and in the garden too.

Do you like to accessorise for the seasons? If you’ve seen any must have pieces this summer definitely let me know.

  1. I also like to keep the house as neutral as I can so that I can add splashes of colour throughout the year and changing seasons. It’s nice to be able to have the choice too xx
