Apple Pie, Phonics and Mascara #LittleLoves

Oh wow, how has it been a whole week already? This week has flown by – I was up in Manchester last weekend for Blog On which was just so good and then I have been ploughing on with work and so much house stuff this week as well as preparing for Britmums Live tomorrow.

Here are a few things I’ve loved this week.

I haven’t read much this week but I have fallen in love with my Mrs Beeton’s cookbooks again. I have a whole range of them and they’re such a great go-to if I need a traditional recipe. There aren’t any pictures in them but you know whatever you’re cooking will turn out perfectly.

Hubby and I have been trying to keep up with X-Factor, GBBO, Dragons’ Den, Undateables, First Dates and so many other shows we watch together. This time of year is so full of TV that I know by the time Christmas has passed there will be nothing on TV again.

Little Man is now learning phonics at school and this was something I was dreading when he started speech therapy. I wasn’t sure whether by this point he’d be able to pronounce the letter sounds but he is doing so well, I am so, so proud of him. So far he’s learnt m, a and s – and is so proud of himself too!

He’s also learning songs for the Harvest Festival – Big Red Combine Harvester that we know so well from when LP was in reception. He’s loving school and has taken to it so well.

Our bake of the week this week was a traditional apple pie. We used ready made pastry and it was such an easy bake. Little Man requested it and I think we’re all pleased that he did! It was lovely.

I haven’t worn anything exciting as far as clothes go this week but I have been wearing a new mascara! Troublemaker from Urban Decay promises to make lashes super long, super fat and stands up to everything life throws at you. I’m loving it so far – and you may have seen me mention it in my Instagram Stories too!

and lastly…

It’s Britmums Live this weekend, with a shiny new format, new time of year, new venue… It’s all so new that I have no idea what to expect but I’m looking forward to catching up with so many blogging friends and celebrating so many of my favourites in the Brilliance in Blogging awards tomorrow night too! If you’re up for an award, good luck!

Have a great weekend whatever you get up to.
