10 Signs You Know That You’re a Blogger {Meme}

Clare started this great meme that I just had to join in with. The life of a blogger is an amazing one but it’s one that other people – who don’t blog – often don’t understand. Here are ten signs that you know you’re a blogger:

1 – Delivery companies know your schedule. They avoid school drop off and pick up as well as the time your daughter has her swimming lesson.

2 – You have to contact the local council to get a second recycling bin to hold all the cardboard boxes and packaging from the deliveries in point 1.

3 – But on the plus side of point 2, you never need to buy packaging supplies and have more bubble wrap than one person will ever need.

4 – You find amazing new ways of taking photos in the worst lit situations and can often be found standing with one foot on the kitchen worktop, one on a chair, balancing to take a photo at just the perfect angle. Usually this will be of dinner that your husband is waiting to eat whilst you’re taking photos of it whilst it’s going cold.

5 – You have stretched your vocabulary to include 101 polite ways of saying no.

6 – You have somewhere in your home where stuff sits. Stuff that needs photos taken of it before it’s touched, photos taken of it in use and the stuff actually being used to find out if it’s good or not. Until then it just sits in that place. For us, that stuff sitting spot is the back of our dining room table.

7 – You dream of one day having a blogging room. A room where you don’t actually blog – because that’s what the sofa is for. But a room that is basically a big version of point 6. A room to put blog stuff in. A room to take photos, to keep props and backdrops and to just do blog stuff.

8 – You have a constant mental list of stuff that needs doing – and it doesn’t involve housework, kids or anything like that. No, it’s a list of posts to write, photos to take and emails to send.

9 – You buy food purely to take photos of it. You buy crockery purely to take photos of said food on it. You buy other random stuff thinking that at some point it may look good in a photo, behind a photo, somewhere to do with a photo.

10 – You have a life so full of stuff that there really is no other room in it. You have the kids, the house, the pets and everything that comes with that. Then there’s family and friends and the time that’s left? That’s full of blog events or writing about everything else in your life. You have never known a busy life until you’re a blogger.

There we have it. 10 signs that you’re a blogger. How many sounded familiar to you? If you want to join in, click the badge below to see Clare’s post and write a post yourself.

My stuff sits in the hallway, a huge pile of stuff still in wrappers, I wish I had a room for the stuff, I have big cupboards but it would get lost.
The delivery people know me on first name basis and always catch me in.
I think my bin men hate me as my paper bin constantly overflows. It’s full the day it gets emptied.

    Pahaha yes, yes and yes.

Thanks for joining in. I’m definitely with you on number 6, it’s almost overflowing now and dream of number 7

I love this post. I read it thinking ‘yup, aha, yes….’ all true and all fab in their own little way. I don’t need a second recycling bin thank goodness but am so thankful that we can now recycle brown card at home as its less trips to the tip! Hurrah!

I nodded along to all of this! I have had a royal mail van stop me on the high street to give me a parcel as I was out when he tried to deliver it – they know me that well haha

Pretty much all of these, I now have a props basket in the spare room that is gradually having the most random things added – just in case they work well for a particular photo ha! I may one day convince Si the spare room should be my office…. for now believe it or not it has half a transit tipper van in (don’t ask) my squeaky treadmill that makes the neighbours think I’m up to all sorts….. and a very random selection of things that may one day come in handy..
