And Then There Were Two {The Ordinary Moments}

Little Man and I haven’t had that much time by ourselves as since he was born LP has always been there. It’s been lovely but when LP started preschool I was looking forward to having some time with Little Man.

One of the things I love most is walking back home with Little Man after dropping LP off in the morning. The buggy board is folded up and I can walk right behind Little Man. I always pull the hood of the pushchair back so that we can chat and I talk to him all the way home. He points at things, makes noises and holds my hand at times. The walk only takes fifteen minutes or so but Little Man is happy, chatty and lovely. I am more relaxed as I have nothing to rush for and we can just walk, and talk.

When we get home the time is spent doing so many different things – housework, playing, TV. But those fifteen minutes are just about Little Man and I. Yes, we walk to pick LP up after she finishes preschool but I then have to rush to be there in time and Little Man is then tired as it’s later in the day. The walk home after dropping her off is definitely one of the nicest parts of my time alone with Little Man.

  1. Ah so lovely Donna and so sweet that you treasure that moment with him- It is so hard to juggle your time with two so I completely agree that those snatched moments of one on one time are so special. Mads normally wakes up before LL from her nap so she and I snuggle on the sofa and I love that half an hour just the two of us. Likewise I have LL on a Friday morning while Mads is at nursery and I relish those moments too. x

  2. Ahh that’s lovely!! I can imagine it is really hard to find time for just you and little man, or even just you and LP for that matter so I domt blame you for absolutely loving any time you get!!! Especially time that’s not rushed!! Xx

  3. That pic is too cute 🙂 Even with just one I child I sometimes find it hard not be in a rush (I can feel all the mums of multiple children rolling their eyes at me now). I like our walk home from nursery too though, and although M is usually very tired I try to make sure we don’t rush and have fun.

  4. What a lovely post – it must be nice to get some one on one time with LM. I’m hoping that if we have another baby we’ll be able to keep Toby at nursery a few mornings so I can get a bit of time alone with the new baby too.
