Review: Tara Binns – Eagle-Eyed Pilot

We love getting new books to read and review and one I was really excited about was Tara Binns – Eagle-Eyed Pilot. Tara Binns is like any other little girl but the difference that Tara Binns has compared to other books aimed at girls is that she aims to inspire other girls and raise confidence, instilling aspirations in them.

As soon as I saw Tara Binns – Eagle-Eyed Pilot I knew I was going to love it. It starts with Tara rummaging through a dressing up chest and instead of dressing up as yet another fairy or princess she decides to be a pilot and the book tells of her adventures not only flying but also exploring far away lands.

Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing bad about girls dressing up as princesses but I am all for balance and a book that helps girls to aspire to be something other than a princess when they grow up is definitely a good thing in my eyes. The girls in this book even go and find buried treasure!

The book is beautifully illustrated with full colour pictures and a story written in rhyme. It has the right amount of words and pictures to keep LP entertained and is the perfect length for a bedtime story.

The main emphasis in the Tara Binns – Eagle-Eyed Pilot book is that you can be anything you want to be in life but make sure that you also make good decisions and are always a nice person. It’s a really feel good book and as LP already has a very vivid imagination she really enjoyed this book as being a pilot isn’t really something she’s thought about before – although she does love to be as astronaut, a pirate and yep, even a princess at times!

Tara Binns – Eagle-Eyed Pilot has an RRP of £6.00

Disclosure: We were sent the above book for the purpose of this review however all opinions are my own.
