I have written before about trying to tame LP’s hair – it has been a battle from a few months old when we had to use clips, and then multiple hair bobbles to try and keep it tidy. Now, at nearly four, LP has quite thick and flyaway hair which gets easily knotty and is a nightmare to wash. We found that she’d complain every single time we brushed it and even with a wide tooth comb she would complain that we were hurting her.
I saw Tangle Teezers mentioned online and had zero enthusiasm for them – I thought that they were a gimmick and that they’d still hurt, LP would still complain and it would be a waste of money but after a few months of difficult hair brushing I bought a Tangle Teezer and waited for it to arrive.
The Tangle Teezer comes in a variety of colours and I chose a pink one as I knew LP would like it. It looks like a chunky plastic brush but with lots of teeth on it kind of like big plastic velcro.
The first time we used the Tangle Teezer LP loved it. She didn’t complain once and will now ask for her ‘magic brush’. Hair brushing has gone from a chore to something so simple and to be honest I have no idea how the Tangle Teezer works, but it does. It’s great for wet hair, dry hair and even incredibly tangled hair. We have never had a complaint from LP, it has never hurt her and her hair has always been soft, straight and tangle free at the end of it.
If you have a child that hates having their hair brushed, buy a Tangle Teezer. You won’t regret it and like us, months later, you will think it was money well spent.
Disclosure: I bought the Tangle Teezer myself and have not been compensated in any way for this post. All opinions are my own.
