Review: Tobbles Neo

This is a toy that I hadn’t heard of before but that I couldn’t wait to arrive – Tobbles Neo is so bright and colourful I knew it would be a hit straight away and would look great in the playroom!

Tobbles Neo is made up of different colour and size balls with indentations to make them easier to grip and handle as well as having a non slip texture to them. Tobbles Neo is primarily a stacking toy that teaches balancing to children over the age of 6 months. With this in mind we thought that LP and LM could share Tobbles Neo and enjoy playing together, something that Little Pickle is just getting used to. As it turned out Little Man loved to watch his Sister playing whilst chewing on one of the balls and his sister just loved to play, giving Little Man a ball whenever he put it down!

Tobbles Neo has six uniquely weighted pieces which balance easily and stack in a tower or even in a curve. LP knew what needed to be done with Tobbles Neo as soon as it was out of the packaging! She spent hours, literally, unstacking the balls, knocking them over, surrounding herself with them and counting them before stacking them up again and passing us the colours we asked for. Little Man spent a long time investigating a piece as he held onto it, moving his hands around it and chewing it! He just loved the tactile value of the game and I can see how there will be so many more levels of gameplay that he can enjoy as he gets older.

Tobbles Neo is great for sensory exploration, developing fine motor skills and coordination. I was impressed to see a toy that not only suited Little Man at 11 months but kept a two and a half year old’s attention for a long time too! Aside from that, Tobbles Neo looks great sitting on the side. I love toys that have great play value and look good too – this really does tick every box!

  1. This looks fab, my baby is also 11 months and shows little interest in toys after the first 10 minutes but I like the variety…and chewability…of this more than thd usual stacking toys, I’ll look out for this, do you think teeth will cause ut a lot of damage!?
