Review: Rockabilly Toothbrush

LP isn’t massively keen on cleaning her teeth – which I think is quite common with three year olds. She’ll happily chew on the toothbrush but doesn’t have a huge amount of enthusiasm for actually brushing.

I hoped when we were sent a Rockabilly Toothbrush that it would make LP a little bit more excited about brushing her teeth twice a day! The Rockabilly toothbrush comes in a variety of colours each with a cartoon character on the handle. We were sent a blue astronaut one and LP loved talking to her little ‘Space Man’ on the toothbrush.

The idea behind Rockabilly Toothbrushes is that they don’t fall over and this makes them a lot more hygienic than standard toothbrushes as they won’t be left lying on the side of the sink, side of the bath or shoved in a toothbrush holder with other things – they stand independently and this feature is something LP loved, flicking the toothbrush to see if it would fall down and giggling hysterically when it just bobbed back upright again. The Rockabilly design is something all children will love.

I was impressed to see that the toothbrush comes with three extra replacement heads so it can last a child up to a year. Before it arrived I had thought that the £6.99 price tag was quite steep for what is essentially a toothbrush but I would be happy to pay £6.99 for a toothbrush that LP enjoys using and will last a whole year. The only slight downside that we’ve found is that the head of the toothbrush can come unattached fairly easily – LP likes to chew on her toothbrush and will often pull the handle out whilst the head is still between her teeth!

LP loves using her new toothbrush and it has made our morning and bedtime routine just that little bit easier. One thing with the Rockabilly toothbrush though is that the base is quite heavy compared to a standard toothbrush so even though LP now likes to clean her teeth she has to put extra effort in as the toothbrush is heavy. Aside from this Rockabilly does make cleaning teeth fun and it’s great to see an alternative to the traditional toothbrush.

Disclosure: We were sent the above toothbrush for the purpose of this review however all opinions are my own.
