LP was very excited to receive our next review book from Meadow Kids – Percy the Polar Bear. LP is nearly three but has a soft spot for a touchy feely book and we haven’t had a new one in ages – I was looking forward to reading Percy the Polar Bear with her.
Percy the Polar Bear has something to touch and feel on every page – Furry polar bears and a walrus. The main theme of the book is learning different colours but Percy the Polar Bear is also about acceptance and learning to love who you are and the way that you look.
I loved the story in Percy the Polar Bear, it’s a story that everyone can relate to and a great story to read with children. LP loved the touchy feely parts of the book and knew exactly where to touch but Little Man needed a bit more coaxing to feel the right parts of the book – He’s still very much learning about books with sensory aspects.
This is another book that I think will last years as LP was completely engrossed in the book I can see that Little Man will be reading it for a long time to come. Usually touchy feely books are very much focused on the different textures in the book and the story is lacking. It’s lovely that this book from Meadow Kids still has a good story as well as the furry patches in the book. If you’re looking for a great quality board book with touch and feel aspects that don’t compromise on the story then definitely take a look at Percy the Polar Bear.
Disclosure: We were sent the above book for the purpose of this review however all opinions are my own.
