Earlier in the year LP reviewed the Meadow Kids Match or Mix Up activity book and still loves it now – She’d never had a book previously where pieces could be taken out of it and she loved this novelty aspect. Roll forward a few months and we have been given the chance to review the Meadow Kids Fancy Dress Match or Mix Up game and I knew LP would enjoy the same aspects she loves in the book.
The Meadow Kids Fancy Dress Match or Mix Up game comes in a storage case and comprises 27 different characters made out of thick, hard wearing card. Each character is split into a head, body and legs section and features a different fancy dress outfit. The idea is to either match up the correct outfits or mix them up to have a whole new outfit!
LP really enjoyed trying to put the characters back together how they ‘should’ go but also loved giving the princess a mermaid’s tail or the police officer a witch’s head! This game made LP really think about where the pieces should go and to choose whether the next piece should be head, body or legs and to really notice the difference between them.
The game pieces store fantastically inside the case and it’s a game that can be played alone or with other children and LP enjoys matching the characters up whilst her brother is napping – he likes to play too when he’s awake! The variety of characters in this game would make it great for both boys and girls and Meadow Kids also do ‘People’ or ‘Weird Creatures’ versions of Match or Mix Up.
I think that Fancy Dress Match or Mix Up is a game LP will be playing and enjoying for a few years at least and definitely a game she will enjoy playing often.
Disclosure: We were sent the above game for the purpose of this review however all opinions are my own.
