Review: Little Live Pets – Snuggles My Dream Puppy

Like all children, LP loves pets – and adores out cat, Leia. But she is constantly asking for a puppy, not understanding really that our ten year old cat probably wouldn’t appreciate a boisterous puppy invading her home. So when we were given the opportunity to review one of the Little Live Pets range of toys it looked like the perfect thing for LP and a great compromise too.

Snuggles My Dream Puppy arrived in a box designed to look like a pet carrier and as soon as LP saw him she stroked his nose, to which he started moving his head, making content noises and closed his eyes. I admit I was slightly freaked out – I’ve never seen such a realistic toy before and LP loved it.

Once out of the box Snuggles was a really good size puppy, who felt just like a real puppy – he had the same weight distribution, realistic limbs and fur that could have come from a real puppy. It was so lifelike.

The puppy comes with a collar – which has a name tag and space to write the puppy’s new name. LP still can’t decide if it’s a boy or a girl but when she has, and when she’s decided on a name it will be written there for all to see.

It also comes with a milk bottle to feed it and it makes slurping noises when you hold it in it’s mouth. It also burps at times and even passes wind – see, really realistic! Snuggles has pressure points on it’s nose, head and tummy which is reacts to when you press or rub them. He moves against your hand, snuggles into you and even falls asleep.

The only downside to Snuggles is that he can’t stand up by himself – he can sit if you position him and he’s lovely to hold but he can’t stand on all fours as a dog would naturally. LP doesn’t seem to mind and happily carries him around, cuddling him whilst watching TV and lays in bed with him next to her.
