Review: Hotel Chocolat Classic Champagne Truffles

There are so many people in my life that I find it hard to buy for. There are also occasions when I’d like to buy someone something ‘just because’ but I never know what to send – Flowers don’t always seem like the right kind of gesture. When Hotel Chocolat gave me the chance to review their Classic Champagne Truffles I knew as soon as they arrived that I’d be sending chocolates from Hotel Chocolat as gifts in the future – Speedy courier delivery, incredibly well packaged and a little note card in the parcel – A lovely way to start a wet and dreary day!

Hotel Chocolat Classic Champagne Truffles come in a fancy box that reminded me of traditional powder puff boxes, an immediate air of opulence and extravagance but very tasteful at the same time. The truffles were packed carefully into the box with tissue paper to protect them and each one was coated in a fine dusting of icing sugar. The box contained 16 truffles and each one was perfectly formed. I was pleased that there were an even number of truffles – It meant Hubby and I wouldn’t fight over the last one! 🙂

We found the Hotel Chocolat truffles to be perfectly bite sized and the solid exterior cracked when you bit into them, releasing the lovely soft truffle centre. The chocolate taste was rich and delicately champagne flavoured – Leaving your tongue tingling afterwards!

Hotel Chocolat chocolates are incredibly good quality and because of this they are not the cheapest of chocolates – You get exactly what you pay for. Now that I have experienced Hotel Chocolat chocolates I won’t be eating them every day, or every week but they will be the first place I turn to when I want an indulgent treat for Hubby and I or if I’m looking for the perfect gift for a friend or family.

Hotel Chocolat Classic Champagne Truffles currently cost £21.

Disclosure: We were sent the above chocolates for the purpose of this review, however all opinions are my own.

  1. I love Hotel Chocolat chocolates and if you ever get the chance you should try their blueberry truffles, they’re like heaven! I love receiving stuff from them, yes they’re a tad more expensive but oh so worth it!
