Little Man has been jealous of LP’s mini armchair for as long as I can remember and we have been meaning to buy him his own one for a few months now but when Fisher Price asked if we’d like to review their Laugh and Learn Smart Stages Chair I knew that Little Man would love to have his own seat in the lounge and couldn’t wait for it to arrive.

How easy is the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Smart Stages Chair to put together?

The Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Chair arrived in one fairly compact box and required minimal assembly – Seven screws to be precise! My only niggle with the design of the chair is that you have to take the back legs off to change the batteries. There was a note in the instructions to tell you this but it does mean it’s a slight faff when the batteries run out. It takes three AA batteries that weren’t supplied.

What is the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Smart Stages Chair?

As soon as Little Man saw the chair he went to play on it. The Laugh and Learn Chair definitely isn’t just for sitting! You input your child’s age the first time you turn it on and the Smart Stages technology adapts the learning level of the chair to match the age of your child. There are three levels of play 12M+ First words and sounds spark baby’s curiosity, 18M+ Prompt baby though questions and simple directions and 24M+ Imaginative fun and early role play. Little Man is very much in the 24M+ stage at the moment and really enjoys the chair talking to him and singing him songs.

What other features are on the Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Smart Stages Chair?

There are so many features of the Fisher Price Learning Chair – it really is so much more than just a chair. There’s a remote control type panel on one arm that makes sounds and says number and things when the buttons are pressed. This is one of Little Man’s favourite features as he is always running around with the TV controls or our mobile phones.

Another great feature of the Fisher Price Chair is a flip book on the other arm. As you turn the book pages in the book songs are played that coordinate with the pictures in the book. It’s great that the songs are relevant and so much can be taught through such a simple feature.

The seat of the chair also lifts up and plays music each time you open it and has a handy storage compartment so Little Man has been happily putting things into the seat and closing the lid! Songs and music are also played each time your baby sits or stands up – The amount of interactive features on the Fisher Price smart chair are impressive!

What were our overall thoughts of the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Smart Stages Chair?

Overall Little Man loves this chair and has hardly got off of it since it arrived. He sits on it to play, watches TV sitting in it and runs to it as soon as meals or his nap time are over. Any blog reader will know that I absolutely love wooden toys but I cannot fault the Fisher Price Stages Chair – It may be made of plastic but Little Man loves it like nothing else! It includes smart features and developmentally appropriate songs for his age with learning content as well as fun surprises. I would definitely recommend this as a great gift as your baby grows.

The Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Smart Stages Chair has an RRP of £34.99 and is also available in pink.
