An air purifier is not something I ever thought I would own, let alone use but when I was given the opportunity to review one I did some research and realised that it could be a really useful product for our family.

What is the Fellowes AeraMax DX95 Air Purifier?

The Fellowes AeraMax DX95 Air Purifier is a 4 stage air purification system that removes 99.97% of airborne pollutants which includes allergens, viruses, germs, dust mites, mold spores, pet dander and cigarette smoke. To put this simply, if you have any allergies in your family or even hay fever then an air purifier could help reduce the symptoms.

How easy is the Fellowes Air Purifier to use?

We’ve been using the AeraMax DX95 unit for a couple of weeks now and although it isn’t the smallest of electricals we have got used to it being a part of our lounge. The air purifier has a built in handle to help move it from one place to another, an adjustable vent to focus the purified air in the right direction and a really streamlined design that wouldn’t look out of place in most homes or work environments.

Before getting the air purifier I was always very aware of dust particles around the house in the summer – the light would come through the windows and I could see a stream of particles floating in the air. I’m sure most homes have this but I tend to   notice this sort of thing more as we have cats – I notice their hair everywhere and blame them for anything I can – Even dust in the air! Since having the purifier I haven’t noticed the dust and other airborne particles as much and as a family we haven’t been sneezing as much. Dave suffers from hay fever and his symptoms haven’t been as bad either but I don’t know if that is thanks to the air purifier or the awful British weather!

What features does the Fellowes AeraMax DX95 Air Purifier have?

The Fellowes AeraMax DX95 includes AeraSafe Antimicrobial Treatment which is built-in protection from the growth of odour causing bacteria, mildew and fungi on True HEPA filter. It also has a AeraSmart Sensor which monitors the room air quality and automatically adjusts the fan speed to keep the air purified and blue, amber and red lights indicate the purity of the air. Since using the AeraMax DX95 the lights have been consistently blue but it’s great to know that our air has been of a good quality. The AeraSmart sensor is an amazing feature and it has meant that we haven’t had to change the settings on the air purifier at all, it does everything for us and we just leave the air purifier on in the corner of the room.

On the lowest setting the AeraMax DX95 is very quiet and the noise from it isn’t noticeable at all during the day. On the three higher fan speeds the air purifier can be quite noisy but the sensor didn’t increase the fan speed at all whilst we we’ve been using the air purifier. Although noisier, the higher fan speeds would work well in a larger space or somewhere needing more air purification for example an office building.

The air purifier comes complete with both a HEPA filter and a Carbon filter. There are indicators to show you when to change the AeraMax DX95 filters but under normal usage the HEPA filter should last 12 months and the Carbon filters should last at least 3 months.

What were our overall thoughts of the Fellowes AeraMax DX95 Air Purifier?

Overall we have found the AeraMax DX95 to be a useful addition to our day to day lives, it runs effortlessly in the room and takes zero effort to set up and use. It has definitely improved the quality of air in our home and would be a great investment for anyone with experience of allergies in their family. The Fellowes AeraMax DX95 is one of a range of AeraMax air purifiers and there are different models to suit all size of home/workplace.

The AeraMax DX95 has an RRP of £249.00
