It’s rare that I get very excited about a children’s book but from the moment I found out we would be reviewing All The Families this month as our latest Parragon Book Buddies review I couldn’t wait for it to arrive. A book about animals and their families seemed so lovely and I knew LP would enjoy it.
All The Families is a large paperback preschool book and each page is full of beautiful bright illustrations of so many familiar animals, in all shapes and sizes. Each double page is dedicated to one animal family and the style of illustrations combined with the colours used make for a really nice book to look at.
The story in All The Families talks about the animals, their families and the things they do together in a typical day – like eating and going to sleep. They were all things that LP could relate to – Seeing a dog or elephant doing those things was something that LP could really understand.
This book is a great way for children to understand not only about other people’s families but also their own family and the way that families are all different. The fact that the book was about animal families made for a nice twist and something that kept LP’s attention throughout the book.
All The Families is a really lovely children’s book that would suit any child. LP loves the book, loves the illustrations and enjoys noticing all the different animals on the pages – A great book for any collection.
Disclosure: We were sent the above book as part of the Parragon Book Buddy scheme however all opinions are my own.
