Ever since we saw the Trolls movie LP has been obsessed with everything Trolls related – especially when it comes to her favourite character – Poppy. So when Hug Time Poppy arrived for her to review she couldn’t wait to get her out the box – and even asked if she could give her a cuddle before I took photos of her!
Hug Time Poppy comes with a bracelet for LP to wear which looks just like Poppy’s one from the movie. In the movie it lights up when it’s ‘hug time’ and with the toy version LP can press the flower on the bracelet to interact with Poppy – setting off lights in her hair and getting her to talk and sing.
Poppy can be posed into either a sitting or standing position however she isn’t very stable in either position and so really she is best at being held or cuddled rather than standing unaided. If you hold Poppy’s hands and stand her on the ground, tilting her body from side to side she bursts into song and you can pick her up and dance around with her – something LP really enjoyed.
Hug Time Poppy says so many phrases from the movie as well as singing songs and LP loved how realistic she was. Although her body is made of moulded plastic she has very realistic troll hair and a tiara – although this didn’t stay on very well and LP preferred to play without the tiara in Poppy’s hair.
Poppy also came with a comb to keep her hair in the best shape possible and LP loved playing with Poppy as she would any other doll – carrying her around with her, playing with her and putting her to bed. She loved her completely and having Hug Time Poppy has definitely made LP one very happy little girl.
From a parent’s perspective it’s nice that Poppy has an off switch as the songs can get very repetitive but it’s nice to see LP so happy and enjoying a toy so much.
Hug Time Poppy has an RRP of £49.99
Disclosure: We were sent the above toy for the purpose of this review however all opinions are my own.
