We were recently contacted by DoCrafts to see if we would like to review something from their website. As anyone who knows me will know, I am not in the least bit crafty but I do enjoy cooking and baking. DoCrafts suggested I review their Piping Nozzle Tip & Brush Set and I admitted that I had never really piped anything before but was keen to give it a go and try and learn something new and within a couple of days the Piping Set arrived.
The Piping Nozzle Set includes 25 nozzles of different shapes and sizes along with a brush for easy cleaning. The whole set is contained in a handy plastic storage case and comes with a guide that tells you what results each nozzle should give – As an inexperienced cake decorator this was incredibly useful to me and I was impressed with the amount of effects that piping nozzles can give.
I made some cupcakes and a batch of Royal Icing, using an icing recipe included with the DoCrafts Piping Set. I then iced leaves using one nozzle, piles of ‘grass’ with another nozzle and did some random drawing with another nozzle. All the nozzles were straight forward to use and easy to clean, especially with the help of the Nozzle Cleaner included in the set.
For someone that hasn’t really piped anything before I don’t think I did too badly but this has taught me that no-one can be Mary Berry overnight. All crafts take practice and DoCrafts have got a lot of project ideas and help available online to make crafting more enjoyable and a fun learning experience. I’ve loved my first piping experience thanks to DoCrafts and am looking forward to persevering, practicing and getting better at piping as time goes on. My cakes may not be showstoppers but they tasted nice and I’m proud of them as they were my first attempt!
