Review: Degustabox {May}

We are lucky enough to be reviewing Degustabox over the next three months. I absolutely love subscription boxes – nearly as much as I love food, so a food based subscription box is ideal for me! Degustabox arrives at your door every month filled with 10-15 surprise products – many of which are new to the market.

Review: Degustabox - May

Our first Degustabox arrived well packaged and I couldn’t wait to see what was inside. The Degustabox costs just £12.99 including postage and as I like a bargain I can usually buy quite a lot of food for that much money – I was intrigued to see what Degustabox would offer and whether it would be good value.

Inside the Degustabox there was:

  • 1 x 500g pack of Garofalo Penne Pasta – RRP £1.89
  • 1 x Can of Cloudy Apple Cawston Press – RRP £1.00
  • 1 Pack of Taylors of Harrogate Blackberry & Elderflower Tea – RRP £2.99
  • 2 x Packs of Raw Energy Chewing Gum – RRP £1.98 (99p each)
  • 1 x Cirio Passata – RRP £1.35
  • 1 x Cirio Tomato Puree – RRP £1.10
  • 2 x Hornsby’s Cider – RRP £2.50
  • 1 x Kettle Sweet Potato Chips – RRP £2.49
  • 1 x Lizi’s Granola – RRP £1.29
  • 1 x Elizabeth Shaw Dark Chocolate Flutes – RRP £2.59
  • 1 x Dr Oetker Cake Releasing Spray – RRP £2.28

Overall the contents of the Degustabox had a combined value of £21.46 so I think that the £12.99 price is great value especially as it includes postage.

Review: Degustabox - May

We are familiar with a few of the brands in the Degustabox but most of the brands are new to us and it’s always nice to discover something new. The brands that we know of – Garofalo and Cirio for example – are things that we don’t usually buy, we always buy the cheaper version and so these are such a treat!

The mix of products is great – Some cooking ingredients, some drinks, snacks and treats. The Degustabox has something to suit everyone – There are things in this month’s box that would be great as part of a family meal, other things that Hubby likes, things that I would like and things that we can share with the children.

Also inside the box was more information about the products and brands included and a £1 discount voucher off our next purchase of Kettle Chips! On the back of the information card there were two recipes using brands in the box. These are lovely additions that I wasn’t expecting.

Our introduction to Degustabox has definitely been a positive one! The Degustabox subscription is definitely a luxury but at £12.99 a month it’s an affordable one – To me, Degustabox is a little treat straight to your door and I love the idea. Plus, there is no contract so you can cancel at any time.

To add to the great price, Degustabox are giving readers a £3 discount when you register with them using code 2EI7S.

Disclosure: We were sent the above box for the purpose of this review however all opinions are our own.

  1. I have been getting the boxes since January. I love the surprise each month never knowing what will be in the box.
I was looking forward to the kettle chips but did not realise they were made from sweet potato rather than just potato and was a little let down by them. Oh well those choc batons made up for it x
