Review: Degustabox {August 2016}

It’s that time again where I share the contents of our recent Degustabox delivery with you! We look forward to this box of treats each month and if you haven’t heard of Degustabox yet, where have you been!?

Degustabox is a food and drink subscription service that arrives at your door once a month. The box is packed full of products that are often new or limited edition and things you may not have tried before. It’s our way of trying new things, having treats and getting reacquainted with some of our favourite brands.

This month’s Degustabox arrived well packaged and contained:

  • Tabasco Sweet and Sticky Barbecue Sauce – RRP £1.99
  • Clipper Green Tea – RRP £1.59
  • Aromatic Thai Noodles Nutripot – RRP £2.49
  • Moroccan Couscous Nutripot – RRP £2.49
  • Dorset Cereals Bircher Muesli – RRP £3.49
  • Get More Multivitamins Drink – £1.45
  • Oloves Olives – RRP £1.00
  • Mahou Cinco Estrellas lager – RRP £1.20
  • Geeta’s Curry Paste x 2 = RRP £1.00 each
  • Geeta’s Mango Chutney
  • Willy Chase’s Fit Corn = RRP £2.19
  • Rakusen’s Snackers x 2 = RRP from £1.29
  • Capsicana Mexican Cook Sauce
  • Fentiman’s Drink

As you can see, the Degustabox had a great variety of products in it with treats, ingredients and drinks. We have loved spending the last couple of weeks trying out all the products and really appreciated the new tastes that Degustabox introduced us to.

The Rakusen’s Snackers are really nice and moreish. They would be great spread with cheese or used to accompany a dip selection. A really versatile cracker with a really nice crunch and a good size for snacking!

I loved the Oloves Olives were really nice and the chilli and oregano flavours worked really well together. As they’re pitted they are a really lovely snack wherever you are and I now love keeping a pack in my bag to eat on the go.

We used the Tabasco Sweet and Sticky Barbecue Sauce for LP’s Birthday barbecue and it was a hit with everyone – but I forgot to take a photo! Hubby was worried it would be spicy but it wasn’t at all. It was lovely and rich and sweet and complimented the chicken perfectly.

The Fit Corn was less of a hit at our barbecue sadly. The goats cheese and red onion flavour is definitely one you will either love or hate and it wasn’t one for us but I like the concept so would love to try other Willy Chase flavours.

I was looking forward to trying the Aromatic Thai Noodles Nutripot as it looked like a really quick meal to have for lunch but nutritious too. Sadly it wasn’t a great consistency and the texture wasn’t something I would choose to eat but the thai flavour was nice and I’m sure other people would enjoy it.

I much preferred the Moroccan Couscous Nutripot which had a really lovely flavour and was really filling. It still didn’t look the most appetising thing to eat but I really enjoyed it nonetheless.

We really enjoyed our Degustabox this month and the mix of products was fantastic. If you would like to try Degustabox for yourself you can use code BLDEG15 to get a huge £7 off your first box!
