Review: Cicciobello Sunny Doll

As the weather’s getting warmer and we’re naturally spending more time outside I start to worry more about the children’s skin and the damage the sun can do to it if we’re not careful. This is a worry that has been in me since I became a parent, and one that stems from my own childhood where we weren’t so savvy when it came to sun safety and one where I got sun burnt quite often.

In trying to keep the children safe in the sun I am also keen to teach them as much as I can about sun safety so that they know from a young age how to not just protect themselves in the sun but the best times to stay out of the sun and why it’s often good to spend time in the shade. Flair sent us their Cicciobello Sunny Doll to review and I knew it would really help when it comes to teaching LP about being safe in the sun.

The Cicciobello Sunny doll is not just an ordinary dolly – although LP loves him like any other dolly. The Cicciobello Sunny doll looks like a traditional doll, complete with a sunny weather outfit, a gorgeous mop of blonde hair and eyes that close when he lays down.

But unlike other dolls Sunny comes with his own necklace, and a matching bracelet for LP, that show how harmful the sun’s rays are at any given moment. The bracelet and necklace show clearly when it’s safe to be outside, when they should really stay away from the sun and the other times in between. LP can read her bracelet easily as it shows faces with different emotions on from happy to really sad.

As well as having a bracelet and necklace to show how strong the sun is, Sunny also reacts to the sun, getting patches of colour on his face and body when exposed to the sun. He also comes with sunglasses – a great way to keep his eyes safe in the sun – LP loves wearing her own sunglasses so loved that Sunny had a pair too.

LP loves her Cicciobello Sunny doll and has literally kept him with her constantly since he arrived – taking him to bed, in the car on adventures and around the house. He is loved as much as any other doll but has the added bonus of being a great way to teach a child about sun safety – such an important topic.

Cicciobello Sunny has an RRP of £29.99

  1. That’s such a brilliant idea! I’ve never heard of a doll like that before, I may have to look into buying one for Daisy. I’m always worrying about how much the sun can effect her skin, especially mid summer! Great review Donna 🙂 xx
