Redhead Roundup – Food {July}

Redhead_roundup

We’ve been trying a lot of lovely foodie products this month and so here’s a little roundup of a few things we’ve been enjoying.

Catherine’s Choice Rhubarb and Ginger Conserve

This conserve makes a great alternative to jam in the morning. The rhubarb and ginger compliment each other perfectly and works well on toast, croissants or any other time you’d usually have jam. The consistency is great and it had a really moreish quality.

Catherine’s Choice Caramelised Red Onion Chutney

This chutney is just the thing that we love to have with cheese and biscuits – usually reserved for Christmas time in our house so having it in the summer was an extra treat! Catherine’s Choice Caramelised Red Onion Chutney is slightly wetter than other red onion chutneys we are used to but it means it spreads more easily too.

If you are a fan of cheese and biscuits and haven’t yet had it with red onion chutney then you haven’t lived. This Caramelised Red Onion Chutney i lovely and sweet and the perfect accompaniment to savoury snacks.

Kettle Chips – Limited Edition Sweet Chilli, Lemongrass and Coriander

We are huge fans of Kettle Chips and always love trying a new flavour – especially a limited edition one! We find Kettle Chips are great for sharing, with dips or just in front of the TV in the evening. This new flavour has the main taste of sweet chilli with underlying flavours of lemongrass and coriander that come through more as you continue to eat.

We usually choose plain Kettle Chips flavours like Lightly Salted so that we can have them with dips and not have too much of a mix of flavours but this new flavour is great by itself and would be lovely to have to nibble when you have guests round.

Lean Greens

Lean Greens has all the super greens you need in one tub. Just add a tablespoon to a glass of water and drink! Each tub has enough for 30 days and includes five powerful grasses and algae which creates an alkaline blend helping flush toxins from your body as well as three superfood vegetables which are packed with vitamins and minerals.

It also includes blueberries and blackcurrants and six digestive enzymes which aid gut health, reducing bloating and building health from your inside out. Lastly it includes Siberian Ginseng and Green Tea to give the blend an extra zing.

The starter kit includes a tub of Lean Greens and a shaker to get you having extra greens in your life right from the start. If you’re looking to start having green drinks and want an easier alternative than making your own then Lean Greens could be the way to go!

Stur Water Enhancer – Coconut Range

Last year we reviewed Stur Water Enhancer and found it to be a great alternative to standard diluting drinks or fizzy pop and we have now been sent the Coconut varieties to test out. Coconut has always been one of my favourite summer flavours – and smells – and I couldn’t wait to try the new Stur drinks.

The Stur Coconut varieties come in three different flavours – just coconut, coconut and pineapple and coconut and lime. Each one is wonderfully refreshing and the pineapple and lime work well with the coconut. The great thing about Stur is that you can so easily take it with you and add it to drinks when out and about – and we are loving the new flavours.
