Redhead Roundup – Food & Drink {June 2016}

Here are a few food and drink products that the whole family have been enjoying this month:

Divine Chocolate Caramel

One of my favourite brands of chocolate is Divine. It really lives up to it’s name, being rich and full of flavour but not sickly and just so easy to eat. Divine sent us their Chocolate Caramel bars to try. They come in creamy milk or rich dark Fairtrade versions and I loved the mix of dark chocolate and caramel – although Hubby preferred the milk chocolate versions.

The caramel was thick, smooth and buttery with a really lovely consistency. Each of the chocolate bars are split into bite size chunks that are easy to break apart. A Divine Chocolate Caramel bar really does make a perfect pick up at any time of the day.

Divine Dark Chocolate Almonds and Raisins

We also tried the Divine Dark Chocolate Almonds and Raisins bar which was heaven in a chocolate bar for me. I love dark chocolate and the fruit and nut addition gave it a lovely consistency. The pieces of almond and raisins weren’t too big, giving the bar quite a smooth finish for this type of chocolate. The chocolate was easy to break into squares and I really enjoyed it as an evening treat although it could be enjoyed through the day too.

Walkers Bugles

We are a family of crisp lovers so when we were sent the new range of Walkers Bugles to try we couldn’t wait to get stuck in. The Bugles come in three different flavours – Cheese, Southern Style BBQ and Sour Cream and Black Pepper. The range of flavours is perfect to give something for everyone.

As a family we really enjoyed Walkers Bugles. They had a lovely crunch as you ate them and the texture was lovely – different to standard crisps as they are made from corn but they were really nice. I loved the sour cream variety and they went really nicely with dips too – especially with the horn shape to them.

Ugly Drinks

Hubby and I love finding fizzy drinks that are better for us than the typical brands and so when we were sent Ugly Drinks to try we didn’t know what to expect. They are the UK’s first range of 100% natural fruit-infused sparkling water and contain no sugar, no sweeteners, no artificial ingredients, no salt and no calories. Ugly Drinks are available in two flavours Lemon & Lime and Grapefruit & Pineapple and they are a great alternative to other fizzy drinks as they’re basically just water.

Hubby really enjoyed these drinks and found them really refreshing. I wasn’t as keen because I’m not a huge fan of flavoured water and I like a bit more substance to a drink but that is just personal taste and if it was a choice between Ugly Drinks and another brand full of sugar and calories I would pick Ugly Drinks every time.

Organix Goodies Puffcorn

The children love snacks and they are a staple part of our day but I am always looking for snacks that are healthy for them and that they really enjoy too. When we were sent new Organix Goodies Puffcorn it was an immediate hit! It’s made from just corn and rice and flavoured with fruit juice and a sprinkle of spice, making it as natural as possible.

The puffcorn comes in two flavours – banana and sweet cinammon and the children really enjoyed both of them. They always see popcorn as a real treat and as Organix Goodies Puffcorn is a great alternative – they don’t know any different and really enjoy it. They’ve been having it as a treat in the afternoons, as part of a picnic and even on trips to the cinema. It’s a perfect all round snack.

Lindt Swiss Luxury Selection

Who doesn’t love a box of chocolates, as a gift, to share with friends or just to indulge in whilst watching TV in the evening? Lindt sent us their Swiss Luxury Selection to enjoy and I don’t think I have ever seen such an impressive box of chocolates before.

The Lindt Swiss Luxury Selection is full of every type of chocolate you can think of, with ones to suit every taste. Whenever we get a box of chocolates Hubby and I like to take it in turns to pick which to have – he’ll go for the coffee ones, the ones with alcohol in them and the rich dessert style ones. I’ll choose the solid chocolate ones, the fruit creams and the nutty ones. With the Lindt Swiss Luxury Selection both of us have enough to suit our tastes and if we did want the same chocolates there are plenty to share.

With Fathers Day approaching a box of Lindt Swiss Luxury Selection would make a great gift but it would be the perfect treat to enjoy at home too. Hubby and I have loved working our way through our box!
