Over the last few weeks we have been reviewing Ravensburger’s range of learning games and it’s time for our final one – Ready Set Count. The game comes with lots of thick card pieces and a jigsaw format that I knew LP would love.
There are picture cards that have animals on them ranging from one animal up to ten animals. Each card is either yellow or blue with yellow being the easier ones and blue being the higher numbers and harder ones. There are then cards with numbers on – hands holding fingers up, the sides of dice and numeric numbers too. The idea is to roll the dice – which has hads, dice or numbers on it – and find the corresponding number for your picture card and attach it using the jigsaw cut outs.
LP is familiar with actual numbers – although she doesn’t know them all yet, and hasn’t had much experience of dice although she does count on her fingers. This game has such great educational value as unlike a lot of games it will help teach LP to count in different ways and to read numbers in different formats.
LP really enjoyed counting the animals on the picture cards and finding the right number pieces to go with it. This is a game that I know she’ll enjoy for a long time and the dice rolling aspect really kept her attention.
Ready Set Count has an RRP of £8.25
Disclosure: We were sent the above game for the purpose of this review however all opinions are my own.
