Review: Protected from the elements with Keela

Before we went to Wales we were sent coats from Keela for the four of us to wear to make sure that we were properly protected from the elements. Keela products are tried, tested and trusted by Mountain Rescue Teams, Tactical Forces and Expedition teams all around the world and we couldn’t wait to put them to the test too!

Hubby and I were sent the Belay jackets – both men’s and women’s versions – that are made to keep off the winter chill or to add an extra layer in more extreme situations. Both Hubby’s Belay Jacket and my Ladies Belay Pro were incredibly warm and got hot quite quickly. These would be fantastic coats for the peak of winter here in the UK or with lighter layers underneath at any other time of year.

The jackets also have an array of pockets and both toggles and velcro fastenings to make them fit perfectly. These coats are perfect for wearing outside in any activity whether walking the dog, rambling through the forest or watching a football game. The weatherproof outer layer is perfect for British weather but both Hubby and I would have liked to have seen the addition of a hood – as for us a winter coat or one to wear in the coldest of conditions should really have a hood too.

The Keela jackets both have Primaloft Gold insulation which is incredibly soft, lightweight and breathable with excellent water repellency so you remain dry, warm and comfortable, even under the most extreme conditions. I’m reassured to know that these coats will keep Hubby and I warm and dry whatever the weather.

The children were sent Waterbug puddle suits to protect them from the elements and they wore them constantly whilst we were away – apart from the one sunny day! The all in one suits are breathable, waterproof and lightweight letting the children be comfortable and dry whilst still enjoying the outdoors.

The Waterbug suits had room to grow for both LP and Little Man and they really liked wearing them. They were easy to put on, kept them warm and had reflective stripes to keep them visible too. I don’t think they could have been better!

Thanks to Keela we are now prepared for any weather and were kept dry through our holiday. I’ll be looking at Keela coats as our children grow and our range of outdoor activities gets bigger too.

Disclosure: We were sent the above products for the purpose of this review however all opinions are our own.
