We love games from Orchard Toys and they’re our typical way to round off a weekend afternoon. Orchard Toys sent us their What a Performance game that I thought would be great for LP – although Little Man insisted on playing too!
Players take turns to roll the dice and move around the board. They then pick up a card and do one of three things on the cards – make a noise, pretend to be something or do an action. The other players then guess what you are trying to do. For this game Little Man mainly made noises – like a pig, duck and sheep and he absolutely loved that aspect of the game.
LP was much more capable as she is around the right age for the game. She was able to pretend to be footballer, a robot, a penguin and so many other things. This really got her acting spirit going! Although LP can’t read yet we were able to help her read the cards and for this reason it might be better to play as a team until children are slightly older.
What a Performance is a great game for any child that loves to perform. It’s a great way of building confidence and for learning more about the world and the things that people do – like being a fire fighter, police officer or cheerleader. There’s also a forfeit part of the game that sees you move backwards on the board or have to make funny faces until your next turn. Forfeits are written in special code on the back of the playing cards and can only be read with the special red decipherer!
This game would be great to play at Christmas when you have all the family round and would be a lovely gift too – like all Orchard toys!
What a Performance has an RRP of £15.95
