I am always looking for recipes that are not only family friendly and great for the kids but ones that the children could help make too. LP loves being in the kitchen and when we were sent the Noodle Kids cookbook to review I couldn’t wait to see what we all thought of it as a family.
Noodle Kids contains 50 recipes that are all in some way related to pasta. Noodles, spaghetti, gnocchi, lasagne. There are quite a few familiar favourites, some twists on pasta classics and some recipes that I had never heard of. Noodle Kids teaches you how to make some types of pasta, teaches you the difference between the different pastas and gives you ideas of recipes to create using either homemade or shop bought fresh pasta.
The recipes in Noodle Kids are all the sort of thing that I would love to eat in a restaurant and would never dream of attempting at home – everything looks so elegant but it is all very much family friendly and pretty easy to cook too so I gave Noodle Kids a try by cooking the Macaroni Casserole. This turned out fantastically, really creamy, cheesey and with the bonus of veg in it too. The children loved it and it will be sure to become a family favourite going forward.
Overall we’ve loved the Noodle Kids cookbook. The recipes are straightforward, easy for children to help with and things children will love to eat too. As LP and Little Man love pasta we’ve already picked out more recipes to try over the coming weeks.
