Review: In the Night Garden Explore and Learn Musical Activity Table

LP completely missed In The Night Garden first time around but Little Man is a true fan and through him LP also loves the show and they both know all the characters. Golden Bear Toys recently sent us the Explore and Learn Musical Activity Table which would be perfect for any In The Night Garden fan even from an early age.

Although Little Man is at the top end of the age bracket for this activity table, which is aimed at 12 months and over, he couldn’t wait for me to get it our for him to play with. The first thing I noticed was how the table top can be used independently from the table and him and LP loved playing with it whilst I put the rest of the table together – although that didn’t take long!

The table top can be used on the floor or can be taken with you easily on adventures to use on weekends away. It takes 3AA batteries and has a lot of activities on it – music, phrases and songs as well as a hammer that you use to hit the lights in one of five different games. There’s also a bridge, cave and carousel to add to the table and figures of Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka and Igglepiggle to play with too. So many character toys only come with one of the characters so I appreciated that this came with all three.

When putting the table together I found it a bit tricky to get the legs in the holes but once in place they were really stable and not the sort of thing you would be taking apart every five minutes anyway. I love that the legs have storage space for the In The Night Garden characters and the table top opens up to store the activity table and other pieces. The whole table can then be used as an actual table making it a great, versatile, multi function product.

When the activity table is on top of the table and legs it is the right height for toddlers to stand at or for Little Man to kneel or stand. Both him and LP – even though she is now four – have been entranced by this table since it arrived and absolutely love the amount of features on it. They love to press the buttons and hear the familiar voices and noises from the show and enjoy playing with the figures in the cave bedroom, carousel and bridge.

We’ve found the In the Night Garden Explore and Learn Musical Activity Table to be a really good toy that can grow with a child. Little Man has loved it – as has LP – despite their ages and I think that the table would be perfect for a 1st Birthday gift.

The In the Night Garden Explore and Learn Musical Activity Table has an RRP of £59.99

Disclosure: We were sent the above product for the purpose of this review however all opinions are my own.
