Review: LP’s Very First School Uniform thanks to Trutex

In September LP will be starting school just a few days after her fourth Birthday. She got her first, and only, choice of primary school – the one where she is at preschool – and I was planning on buying her school uniform over the next month or so. Trutex got in touch and asked if we’d like to review some of their range of uniform and it was pretty much perfect timing.

As LP is so petite I am glad that Trutex offer an age 3 sizing and they sent us a Junior Pleated Skirt, Polo Shirt and Sweatshirt in LP’s school uniform colours. All Trutex items are available in a range of colours to make sure that it matches the school’s colours perfectly. The uniform arrived quickly and was well packaged in cellophane, on hangers and nicely pressed – perfect condition!

The sizing of all the items on LP is great – although she is nearly four she has only recently grown out of 2-3 clothing and so I was expecting age 3-4 to have room to grow but still be wearable and it was exactly that. The skirt was a good length and had size adjuster buttons on the waist which will help it last even longer.

The polo shirt has three buttons at the neck and is a unisex design. This had quite a lot of room to grow but looked fine tucked into LP’s skirt and fitted well under her sweatshirt. The Sweatshirt had plenty of room to grow and was a really generous size.

All three items have washed well and all look like they’ll be quite hard wearing – the skirt, shirt and sweatshirt all feel really thick and well made.

The main thing with school uniform, apart from it lasting a long time, is whether the child will be comfortable in it. Aside from LP refusing to look at the camera for photos, she loved wearing the uniform and couldn’t wait to put it on. Once on she wore it sitting to watch TV, running around the house and garden and dancing around the lounge. She loves her new uniform and I don’t think we’ll have any complaints when she’s wearing it – now all we need is a pair of shoes and some white socks!

Disclosure: We were sent the above items for the purpose of this review however all opinions are my own.

  1. Aw she looks so cute and dinky in her uniform! It’s great they do a smaller size, my eldest has a July birthday so when he started school the smallest size we could get at the time still swamped him! We’re now about to order his secondary school uniform soon arghh he has to wear a blazer as well, we have to buy most of it from the school and it’s over £100 for all that he needs.
