Living Arrows – 2/52 {2017}

Welcome back to another week of Living Arrows. It was amazing seeing how many people joined in last week and how many people have decided to make Living Arrows a part of their blogging routine for 2017. It’s one of my favourite parts of each week and I love having you all here to share it with.

If you haven’t joined in with Living Arrows before – this is a great time to start! Living Arrows is about celebrating childhood. The project originally took it’s name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” and every Monday we share a moment from our week and invite others to do the same as part of this linky.

Each week I share two pictures from our week – one of each of our children – but you can share one or more pictures that capture a moment of childhood. The following week I’ll share my three favourite photos from the week before, linking back to the owner’s blogs.

So if you would like to link up, grab a badge and post around a photo of childhood from the previous week. I look forward to reading your posts and make sure you visit a few of the other posts that have linked up and leave a comment too!

Here are a few of my favourite photos from last week:

Toby Goes Bananas

Bubbablue and Me

Raising the Rings

This week’s photos were taken in the car on our whistle stop trip to Wales at the start of the week. I don’t often take photos of the children in the car but it’s one of the ways you can really see how much they’ve grown if you compare them to earlier photos. Little Man loves being in the car – and loves his car seat as it’s the newest one and so always says “new seat mine!” when he’s getting in the car.

Although five and a half LP is still too petite to use the normal car seat belt and so instead still uses the five point harness. She loves being in the car seat, finds it really comfortable and often will sit there with her legs crossed or her feet together in her lap. She’ll happily read in the car, draw or watch TV and loves looking out the windows too. She loves an adventure.

I’m really looking forward to reading your posts this week. A phenomenal amount of people joined in last week and I’m going to keep commenting on all of them and sharing my favourite photos. Thanks so much for taking part and for adding to this great little community we’re creating – I can’t wait to see your children grow through the year.

  1. I was reading this after scrolling through from the Ordinary Moments and I love the idea behind it so thought I’d come along for the journey! First week ‘officially’ doing it, I love the car seat photos they both look so happy. We moved J to a seatbelt and she loves the independence it’s given her and understands the boundaries x

  3. Ahhh, I have a nearly six year old still using the five point car seat, I swear Dylan will still need a booster at secondary school… at least they are super safe, hey?

  6. I’ve always feared car journeys with little ones, living in dread of the ‘are we there yet’ whines and the fights – so it’s lovely to see it doesn’t have to be that way! Haha. Lovely photos, you have such cuties. Great selection of photos from last week too.

    Thank you for hosting xx

  7. I’m a bit late to the party but better late than never, looking forward to reading everyone’s posts each week!

  8. I never think to take photos of my girls in the car so I’m going to have to give it a go. These are lovely photos and you’re lucky that your two are such good travellers, Lyra suffers pretty badly from car sickness so we’re always on edge!
