Living Arrows – 21/52 {2017}

Welcome back to another week of Living Arrows – it is so lovely to have you all here. It’s definitely one of my favourite parts of each week and I love seeing all the posts and photos that are linked up during the course of the week.

If you haven’t joined in with Living Arrows before it’s is about celebrating childhood. The project originally took it’s name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” and every Monday we share a moment from our week and invite others to do the same as part of this linky.

Each week I share two pictures from our week – one of each of our children – but you can share one or more pictures that capture a moment of childhood. The following week I’ll share my three favourite photos from the week before, linking back to the owner’s blogs.

So if you would like to link up, grab a badge and post around a photo of childhood from the previous week. I look forward to reading your posts and make sure you visit a few of the other posts that have linked up and leave a comment too!

This week’s photos I took quickly at home on Saturday morning. I rarely take photos during the week unless we are doing something special after school and I’ve been away this weekend for Blog On so I had to take take photos in the few minutes I had with the children before we left on Saturday.

This is a classic pose for LP. She loves looking through things, making faces and going on her own adventures. She loves these binoculars even though they aren’t working ones but they make her so, so happy.

Little Man loves trains and our new extension has given him so much space to play with them. We were all disappointed last week to learn that his beloved Thomas ‘Take n Play’ trains are being discontinued but, thankfully, he already has so many of them. I love his face in this photo – so grown up and so young in equal measure.

I’m really looking forward to reading your posts this week. If I thought a lot of people joined in for the first week then I was amazed at the amount that joined last week! I’m going to keep commenting on all of the posts that link up and sharing my favourite photos each week. Thanks so much for taking part and for adding to this great little community we’re creating – make sure to go and comment on a few other posts at some point during the week too.

  1. My daughter is obsessed by trains too. If you haven’t done it already I do recommend Mattel Play in Liverpool if you’re up this way as they have a great Thomas section! #LivingArrows

  2. So sorry to hear they’re discontinuing it – that photo of Little Man makes him look so much older. J has the same binoculars as LP and it’s cute to watch them isn’t it? I’ve taken the plunge and am going to the christmas blogon which will be my first conference, I’m a tad nervous but it looks like a great day x

  3. We have an old tatty pair of penguin binoculars that were from a happy meal ages ago that my kids love. I’ve tried to get rid of them a few times without success. Wonder what it is about them they love so much. Have a look at the sale section in Asda they always have the Thomas take and play on offer in ours.

  4. Oh I love the pic of LP with her binoculars. I used to love playing with my great grandad’s binoculars and now Amy is absolutely in love with them. They’re ancient and would quite possibly fetch something at the Cash in the Attic or something like that x

  5. Thank you so much for sharing my photo, I’m still in shock that my Athena is walking already! Love your photos this week, Lyra loves binoculars too. We have some proper ones but she still gets so much enjoyment from a red plastic set like LP’s.

  6. Kids love binoculars – we’ve got a little real pair that Toby loves to play with, although he insists on using them the wrong way round most of the time! LM does look very serious about his trains – what a shame they’re not going to make them anymore.
