And just like that it’s the Summer Holidays!

We have been counting down to this moment for weeks – maybe even months. Today is the first full day of our summer holidays and we are looking forward to cramming so much into the next six weeks – as well as plenty of lay ins, lazy days and time at home.

And just like that it's the Summer Holidays!

The children are so tired from school. They have spent the last weeks barely holding themselves together, getting emotional and snappy at the smallest thing. They are, without a doubt, ready for the holidays.

I am ready for mornings without school uniform, book bags and the school run. As much as I like the time when the children are at school and need that time to work I also really do miss the kids. I have loved picking Little Man up at nursery at lunchtime and then having lunch with him and relaxing for a couple of hours before picking LP up from school and seeing her face is always a highlight of my day. I miss them when they’re at school and I love spending time with them. So for me, the holidays are all about time together.

The next six weeks are all about spending time with the children, having a holiday, going on day trips and seeing friends. It’s going to be a busy six weeks and I’ll still have to work but the children come first – I’ll mainly be working in the evenings and dedicating the days to time with the children.

So, prepare for some quiet times on the blog but plenty of days out and holiday posts when I get the chance to catch up. The next six weeks are all about making memories and after that Little Man starts school – so this is one summer we’ll really be making the most of.

Whatever you get up to over the holidays – have a great time. The next six weeks will go quicker than we could ever imagine and before we know it we’ll be labelling uniform and packing PE kits ready for that first day of school. Happy holidays everyone!
