Over the last few years since we became parents we have tried out so many bath toys and things to use at bathtime and Munchkin products are without a doubt our favourites so I thought I would share the Munchkin products that, as a family, we like the most.
One thing that every bathtime needs is a jug to wash children’s hair. We used to use a tupperware pot until we found out about the Munchkin Shampoo Rinser – a flexible jug that moulds to your child’s head to make sure that water pours over them but not in their eyes. It’s just the right size and works well and it’s great to not have tupperware on the side of the bath any more!
One of the simplest toys is the Munchkin Pour and Strain Whales – three cups with different size holes in them to let water pour through. The whales stack nicely together and can be played with individually. So simple and yet the children love them. One big bonus is that they don’t go mildewy like other bath toys as they are just one piece of moulded plastic.
I originally wasn’t keep on the Cupcake Bath Squirters because of how pink and girly they were but having used them now for a good few months at bathtime both children love them! They look like cakes, squirt water and look nice sitting on the side of the bath – Little Man doesn’t care that they’re pink and LP loves picking out the right colour cake from the bath water. They come as a set of four but one of ours has disappeared to that same place odd socks run off to.
The Magic Colour Lily Pad Stacker is such a great toy for learning. Not only is it a stacking toy but parts of each piece change colour when they are put in warm water. LP loves remembering which order the stacking flower pieces go in and this has really helped her learn colours too. Little Man loves the squirty frog – any squirty toys really. This toy has such long lasting appeal and again, it looks nice on the side of the bath – my needs are simple!
One toy that we all love is the Munchkin Underwater Explorer. This toy has been played with in the bath and around the house – Little Man especially loves it! The submarine goes underwater but floats too depending on how much water is inside it. When you take it out of the bath water drains from the bottom and whilst the submarine is adventuring the propeller turns at the front and the person inside spins around. This is a great toy for acting out adventures and one that LP loves to zoom around the bathtub.
Lastly, the children still love their Munchkin Bubble Blower, a toy that they have had for a really long time now but absolutely love – what child wouldn’t love bubbles at bathtime?!
