LP is a huge Doc McStuffins fan and we’ll often find her, and ourselves, singing the songs in the program. It’s understandable then that LP was super excited when the Doc McStuffins Specialist Dentist Playset arrived for us to review.
The Doc McStuffins Specialist Dentist Playset comes with a Doc McStuffins doll, a Hallie toy and a few accessories – a toothbrush, toothpaste, comb and dentist ‘tool’.
The first thing I noticed was that the Doc McStuffins doll has realistic hair that comes nicely braided and tied with elastic bands. We’ve had to tell LP not to comb her hair too much as it will be a nightmare to plait the hair again – it will never look as good as it does now! But having the option to play with Doc McStuffins’ hair is a great addition and one a lot of children will love.
The Doc McStuffins doll also has a removable headband, a stethoscope and a full uniform which make her a really realistic toy and one that LP loves.
The Hallie character is a basic plastic hippo with teeth that retract when pressed with the dentist tool or toothbrush. LP loves sticking things into Hallie’s mouth and seeing the teeth move back. I’m not sure how this really replicates a visit to the dentist but although not true to life LP loves it and enjoys pretending to put toothpaste on the brush and then brushing both Hallie’s and Doc McStuffins’ teeth.
LP has hours of entertainment with the Doc McStuffins Specialist Dentist Playset and my only wish, like with all similar toys, is that it came with somewhere to store all the pieces – it would be easy to lose the toothbrush and toothpaste if your child isn’t careful but other than that it’s a really well made toy with a lot of playability aside from Hallie’s teeth moving – LP loves acting out doctor and dentist scenarios with Doc McStuffins and I’m sure this toy will give her enjoyment for a long time to come.
The Doc McStuffins Specialist Dentist Playset has an RRP of £29.99
