Review: Cooking Along with HelloFresh #HFCookalong

Last week HelloFresh invited us to have a cookalong with them, sending us their Family Box of ingredients, aprons and Halloween goodies to get together in the kitchen and cook a meal as a family whilst cooking along with others on social media. Unfortunately I had to work on the day it took place but HelloFresh kindly sent across a video so we could cookalong at a later date.

LP was at school but Little Man was the perfect little helper, sitting on the worktop, having a snack and then watching the video with us. He loved trying to match the ingredients to the ones he saw on the video! With HelloFresh all the ingredients you need are delivered to your door in their correct quantities so there’s no measuring, you can just add things when you need to.

Our HelloFresh box contained four delicious meals using a wide variety of ingredients. During the cookalong we created Sicilian Caponata – a mix of tuscan sausage meat, roasted vegetables, tomatoes and capers. It was lovely!

The other meals we cooked were Tagliata with Roasted Garlic and Sweet Potato Chips that had rocket and tomatoes on it. We don’t have steak often so this was a wonderful treat!

We also had Super Quick Creamy Pasta with Peas and Bacon which was a firm favourite with the children and adults alike. You can’t go wrong with pasta in our house and this was lovely!

Lastly, we made the Five Spiced Chicken with Bok Choy which had really nice asian flavours and it’s the sort of meal we really enjoy but don’t cook often. With all of the meals we were all impressed with the generous portion sizes and the fact that nothing is wasted with HelloFresh – literally everything is used!

Hubby commented that HelloFresh have some great tasting recipes and I can’t disagree. All four recipes were so different and yet we really enjoyed all of them as a family. It was a really nice experience too cook along with HelloFresh and I would definitely order from HelloFresh again in the future.

HelloFresh Family Boxes have an RRP of £64.00

Disclosure: We were sent a HelloFresh box to cook along with however all opinions are our own.

  1. What a cute little helper you have there! It really was great fun, wasn’t it? We really enjoyed trying out the family box too and you’re right about the steak dish. That’s probably something that I wouldn’t have thought of as a family meal but cooked this way it was perfect. Mine all wolfed it down!
